As long as Jacob has the cojones to help me out, this WILL happen on the next cruise. Book it Dan-O (Swano pun intended)

Sounds like me!
because jeffy is still pretty damned hot.
Nothing has boosted my self-esteem more than this forum in my life. I was this close to just ending it all, and then Jakey poo went and tossed my picture online for all to see. I actually like Linkin Park and Disturbed, although I do NOT call it metal. It's nu-metal which is a subgenre of alternative music

I really enjoy Destroy Erase Improve from Meshuggah. After that, I lost interest.
OLD In Flames up through Clayman (after that, they are dead to me)
OLD Metallica up through SOME of the Black album (or rather the rest of the songs that weren't the hits)
Funny enough, I have a severely edited version of Death Magnetic entitled Better, Shorter, Cut. I find this version a fair bit more enjoyable (and Thrashier), as in I can actually listen to it. Search it out and hear for yourselves, or just ask me, and I'll share it.
I like my fair share of technical Death Metal as well.
With the exception of Napalm Death (who kick ass), I am also not a fan of Grindcore.

Solstice sounded ok, now I had to skip directly to While Heaven Wept because Craig liked it that much - not very "doomy" but quite interesting!

They weren't doom suggestions. I think he meant them in the context of "as a fan of traditional heavy/power/speed metal", not the doom part of his post.

Power and doom are like absolute musical contradictions to me. Although I do get how one could 'borrow' from the other or even have moments of both in the same song, I just can't think of them coexisting in any given musical moment. But yeah, I too prefer my droning mixed with heavy doses of higher gears.

Hmmm... multiple new accounts with red quotations and cartoon avatars posting oddly cryptic replies to various posts.
Has Witch Bear fallen off his medication?
Have Graddus and HeatherLove joined forces to flank us with new artillery?
Stay tuned folks!
