So what does your press pass entail? Will you be writing up some professional review/story? Photos?

I have my airfare, hotel booked and they granted me a press pass and this girl who lives in Seattle also a photo pass. Melissa claimed that I did not request a photo pass. But I did. The girl they approved does not have her airfare. she is trying to figure out how she can afford it. Melissa sent me a email and said that this girl from Seattle was one of 3 photographers granted a photo pass. She is the sole person from the USA that was granted one.

My press pass gives me entrance to the conference and the festival both nights at no cost. I will write a review for my webzine. But since I was not granted a photo pass, I wont be bringing my big camera and lenses. Sad.

I did just email Melissa and ask if I could at least bring a small handheld pocket camera to take pictures of Viathyn.....

Oh I see. That's wicked your friend got one of the few photo passes!!

You'll definitely be allowed to have a pocket camera. Scarab Productions' shows are really good for that.

Oh, and :headbanger: Cheers for wanting to take pictures dude! haha

Hope I can make it bro! Might have to forfeit/eat the airfare and ticket to the fest. I have 240.00 saved. The hotel is 360.o00 per person. I am not working and am getting 225 per week on unemployment. I have no credit cards and I hope I can make it. I really do. At this point, I need a job or a miracle.

    ok
have your roomies front you the $80.00 for the room. I changed hotels for several reasons...one has free breakfast buffet, afternoon snacks and light dinner included.
So you can crash the buffet for free grub at my hotel.
    the miracle solved.

Not an option. My friends are life long, know them for 10 or more years but they would not front me money.

I do not need to eat. But thanks for the offer.

So you changed from the Hotel Viktoria?

98% chance that I won't be going. I have 167 dollars saved for the trip and its 3 weeks away. Today is my 4 month anniversary since I got laid off. Cannot pay my bills with the unemployment checks . 900 per month on unemployment. :(

My friend Herb said he might be able to help with some hot dogs and a beer or two. That was nice of him. But I need to have about 500 in cash just to pay for my 1/2 of the hotel and the bus from the Bergen Airport to the Fish Market (and visa versa). I am glad I know my way around Bergen. Last year I could not find the hotel. It is not marked and that is why hardly anyone knows about it. It is about 130.00 per night. But see, I wanted to go on the Fjordtour from the Bryggen Market marina. Its a boat trip. I think its around 50 dollars.

Losing my job was like having the winning lottery ripped up in my face.

Ok so i went to 2 value villages and a goodwill yesterday with a friend spent 96 dollars on 25 shirts. ac/dc, nirvana, beatles, sabbath, good charlotte, him, and other popular stuff. I just took pictures of the shirts and now I am going to list them on eBay and hope for the best. I hope its enough to fun my spending while in Norway. We would not want me to be sober the whole time.

Just back now from my trip.
So many funny stories and all the festivals were a great craic.
Kinda should have made more effort seeing bands play at Headbangers open air though.Spent a fair amount of the time on the tour bus of Shok Paris drinking with them.
My friends camera got robbed at dong open air though and i didn't bring one so unfortunatly there are no pictures from the trip

Thats what happens when you don't have campground security.
I understand that the reason they leave the campgrounds open at most metal festivals to those who don't have tickets for the festivals so they can party and camp with their friends who are attending the festivals but it's become more dangerous for people at festivals.
At the end of nearly every metal festival i've been to this year i've seen the bums from towns nearby coming to scavenge what ever they can in the morning but others have told me that it's becoming more common that they steal from peoples tents.
Anyway shit happens. We had a great time either way and we didn't really lose much that couldn't be replaced.

Best band performances i've seen anyway from my trip has been Equilibrium,Accept,Kalmah,Arkona,Haggard,Sabaton,Vogelfrey,Bloodbound,Hammerfall,Wolfchant.

As for Manowar their show at Magic Circle festival was the worst Manowar show i've ever seen. After that show i didn't even bother go watching them at Masters of Rock and have retired from watching their shows until they become a band i can respect again which by the looks of it may never happen.

But anybody who has the chance to see Equilibrium or Accept live don't miss the chance.
You'll be completly blown away by these 2 bands and their new singers.

Bloodbounds new singer is pretty fucking good too.He was a great choice to replace Urban Breed.

    I'm really sorry for that1

The rumour was on that some tents, that were placed on the boundary of the hill, where robbed (not stolen, Mr. Cruise, right?).

Again: sorry! Hope you enjoyed the rest :|

For a second or two there I thought we were gonna be treated to a genuine online crime confession!

But yeah, second that motion... Sorry you and your friend's festival trip got sullied by low life Aholes and hope it didn't ruin any of the rest of it for ya. Sorry too about Manowar. I'm not a fan but know all too well what it's like to have one of your long time favourite bands take a turn for the worse. Hopefully there's better days in their future.

Yeah starlight. Robbed, robbery, rob, all of it means that the victim was present

(1)Robbery is the crime of taking or attempting to take something of value by force or threat of force and or by putting the victim in fear. At common law, robbery is defined as taking the property of another, with the intent to permanently deprive the person of that property, by means of force or fear.[1] Precise definitions of the offence may vary between jurisdictions. Robdubery differs from simple theft in its use of violence and intimidation.

The word "rob" came via French from Late Latin words (e.g. deraubare) of Germanic origin, from Common Germanic raub

Among the types of robbery are piracy, armed robbery involving use of a weapon, and aggravated robbery involving use of a deadly weapon or something that appears to be a deadly weapon. Highway robbery or "mugging" takes place outside and in a public place such as a sidewalk, street, or parking lot. Carjacking is the act of stealing a car from a victim by force. Extortion is the threat to do something illegal, or the offer to not do something illegal, in the event that goods are not given, primarily using words instead of actions. Criminal slang for robbery includes "blagging" (armed robbery, usually of a bank), and "steaming", or organised robbery on underground train systems

When I was at Dynamo 98 someone stole my camera from my tent. And my dutch friends said "the camera is probably taking pictures of the German countryside now. (Implying that a German stole it)

You'll be completly blown away by these 2 bands and their new singers.

stoked to see Accept again at some point (like on the boat), how did the Europeans react to an American fronting Accept? just curious...

sounds like it was a killer Summer for you, I will admit my envy :heavydrink:

Well they played in Masters of rock in Czech republic and about 95 % of the people there were Czech.I think i saw a German at the festival but maybe i imagined that.
Yeah they got an amazing reception and so did the singer. If you look at the lineup for Masters of rock most of the bands were either Heavy rock,Heavy metal or Power metal.Never seen so many people in a crowd for Gamma Ray before. It was pretty cool.
Infact all i heard being put on the jukebox in the beer tent beside my campsite was helloween songs.
I've learnt some things about Czech people. They have great taste in Metal,Can barely speak English and don't really get on with people outside their country
Nearly got in a fight with one guy over me wearing a Slovakia flag as a cape when i was drunk.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Festival farts are the worst. One wacken festival all we did was drink beer and eat flesh (beef, chicken, pork, lamb) and no veggies or anything else and we were farting up storms. People dropped on our paths.

And you didn't need vegetables at a festival.Meat is important though.
Actually hmmm.At Masters of Rock they were selling corn on the cob.Was quite awesome.

Also anybody who puts a lock on their tent is a retard.
It actually will encourage someone to break into your tent because they'll assume there is something valueable you are trying to protect ;)
