    Amon Amarth KICKED ASS TONIGHT

by TOM CRUISE » Mon Apr 12, 2010 12:43 am

Just rolled in wasted from Amon Amarth/Eluvetie/Holy Grail in Seattle. We interviewed Eluvetie on their bus. Since there are 8 members they take up the whole bus.

Really REALLY cool guys (and gals) from Switzerland. folk/death metal. Seen them 2 other times but never met them. The singer opened a bottle of wine and i drank it with him during the interview. I will post the interview text after we get it all set up as well as pictures because my co administrator was in the photo pit for all three bands.

holy grail were not so good really, retro 80s metal/thrash stuff.

Eluvetie were great and had great sound and the crowd went crazy for them.

Amon Amarth were like always- ELECTRIC. LOUD AnD MELODIC. I am sure I will have a sore neck tomorrow. They played mostly the newer stuff which is ok by me because i have been a fan of AA since 96. they played for 90 minutes though. MASTERS OF WAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR

i will post the pictures and the interview link in this thread in a few days after we are recovered. But now i am home and drinking some more beer. my friends had to work tomorrow that i went with. ;)

So to the americans who might have this tour hit their town- DONT MISS IT!

Next for me is Overkill/Vader/God Dethroned and then Finntroll just a few days later. :)

Dude what was the setlist for this do you know?
I'm curious because the only old song i've ever seen them play is Victorious March.Really hoping they play a more classic setlist on the cruise.

I really like Ivo Henzi's Forest of Fog. Sounds like a good show, I'd like to see Eluveitie.

I'm seeing Amon Amarth/Eluveitie April 21, I guess I better get familiar with their latest album soon...
And I'm leaving for Finntroll in about 10 minutes.

I'm going to Amon Amarth on the 25th. The lack of Victorious March is a tad upsetting, although I'm sure it'll kick ass regardless.

Yeah their setlist in Edmonton was exactly the same as in Seattle; Doubt they'll change it at all for the whole tour.
It was kind of a shame nothing from Avenger/Crusher, but at least I've seen that material live before. I Saw their new material last year as well but they only played three or four songs from it.. at least this time I got my favorite two off of the new one! (Varyags, and Tattered)

I was happy they played newer material actually, since I have seen them so many times! But I am looking forward to 2 sets by them on the cruise. They have such a huge catalog that they could play 35-40 songs at least!! (Hopes)

And on that note, I am going to see Finntroll/Moonsorrow/Swallow The Sun right now! :D

I hope every band makes a solid effort to do different sets on the boat, that would be really fucking awesome!

Anyways, have fun at the show, sounds like a pretty fun one (missed out on moonsorrow last time they came through here *grumble* but finntroll is always fun to see live) I'm curious about their new material live, let me know how it is :metalguy:

I get to see Amon Amarth Sunday. Saw them at Sounds of the Underground a couple years back, and I can't wait to see them again Sunday...and of course in January!!

What a show! Swallow the Sun were a little down tempo for my mood and I lost interest because the club part was standing room only and so I went to sit down in the bar with friends,

Moonsorrow- WOW. These guys were amazing to say the least. The place was packed and the show SOLD OUT. But I have to say that they need to book Moonsorrow on the cruise!!! For sure!!

Finntroll were excellent. I am sorry to inform that I only have one album from them from 2002. :( So what songs they did play were really heavy and fast and the band were tight. The vocals were spot on too. This band has a lot of energy. It looks like I have some catching up to do with their catalog.....

    Fun night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I saw Moonsorrow last week my mind was completely blown away! I had never heard them before and wow I was just super impressed with them. It'd be awesome if they got booked for the cruise!!
