I was gonna go to this show until the Dimmu Borgir show in Detroit was announced on the same night. Instead, I'll be roadtrippin' to Cleveland on the 18th to see Cannibal Corpse. Oh, and Devourment DEMANDS your attention.

Had you seen Kotzen before? I saw him a couple years ago with Paul Gilbert and George Lynch. I am a huge fan of Gilbert, but Kotzen stole the show that night. I had no idea the guy had such a great voice in addition to some great blues chops.

Hey! here's a clip from that very show!

Skyclad is a term used to describe the act of performing ritual or ceremony (usually pagan/wiccan types) in the nude. I didn't know it was a band  :?

you don't know skyclad, the godfathers of folkmetal?
they had some pagan origin, that's why i thought you were talking about the band
i'm not into folkmetal, but they are one of very few bands everybody should check out (imo)

Actually, as soon as I read your reply, it all made sense and I recall hearing of the band before but yeah, just didn't connect the dots the first time around. I think if you'd used a capital S for the name of the band I might not have gone where I did but alas... double

Should be a TOP night. Lord Tim is a great singer and guitarist, and they are a fantastic band.

They do a hilariously good cover of Kylie Minogue's "On A Night Like This" - check out it the video clip of it on Youtube. Too funny :D :shred:

Weren't the legendary Aussie Power metal band called Dungeon.
And then when most the members left the band was renamed to Lord a few years ago?

Hey! here's a clip from that very show!

Seen Richie last year in Glasgow, September 2009. Stunning that night too. I love GIlbert and he is a frightening player, his sweeping and alternate picking are scary. But Kotzen is so diverse, very bluesy but can still shred at a ridiculous speed. His voice is supreme though! What amazed me from the most recent show was that he didn't use a pick the whole night, it was all fingers. Crazy!

Saw HALFORD Wednesday night in Seattle. Amazing musicians, excellent show!

Dave Lombardo's side project, Philm, opened for Halford. Different stuff--kinda funky heavy metal???? LOL

Next gig would be Dimmu Borgir, but going to Canada for a hockey game that night, dammit. Might hit the 3 Inches of Blood show on Nov. 26 instead!

Not quite my next gig, but KYUSS (!!!!!) have reformed and are touring down here in May next year.

Never thought I'd get the chance to see Kyuss live so I'm stoked. Unfortunately no Homme, but Garcia, Oliveri and Bjork is good enough for me.

    Cannot f'ing wait!!

Never thought I'd get the chance to see Kyuss live so I'm stoked. Unfortunately no Homme, but Garcia, Oliveri and Bjork is good enough for me.

    Cannot f'ing wait!!

Just read this post to my husband, he is soooooo excited. He LOVES Kyuss!! Thanks for posting this. Hopefully we will get them here!

Saw Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved, Blood Red Throne & Dawn of Ashes last night
Great show all around. Shagrath also did the clean vocals in Serpentine Offering and Progenies of the Great Apocalypse. It was not anywhere near as powerful as Vortex, but I give him credit for not using pre-recorded stuff live. (or at least if the pre-recorded stuff was being used, the volume was way down) I also really hope that Enslaved comes around on a headlining tour of the states soon.
Talking to the Blood Red Throne dudes after the show was hilarious. Fun guys and great band. "Drink Hard!"
Here's a pic of me and BRT:

Next up: Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Devourment, Vital Remains - Cleveland roadtrip on Thrusday!
    Skeletonwitch next Saturday
