Sheryl Crow plays at the Canadian Pacific Railroad yard, outdoors from a boxcar.

Tonight show is an unusual place but it is one of those things that you just have to go and see because you live close by and it is a Saturday night plus the fact that the gig is OUTDOORS in the middle of December in Minnesota. It snowed today and the temperature at show time may be around a balmy 5 degrees Fahrenheit. It is currently 13 degrees Fahrenheit with a light wind. This rail yard is on a windswept flood plain along the Mississippi River and as the posting says, “Dress for the weather because this is an outdoor event”.

The Canadian Pacific Railroad operates a Holiday train during December which raises food for local food shelves. The Canadian Pacific Railroad has run Holiday Trains across Canada and the U.S. since 1998. Canadian Pacific officials said they decided to mark the 15th anniversary of the Holiday train with three large events, one in Cottage Grove, MN and the other two in Calgary and Hamilton, Canada.

Damn, what an awesome weekend in Eindhoven we had! The Vomitory gig on Friday night was most definitely among the top three gigs ever. Martin of Bullets was awesome on Saturday as expected. Centurian was awesome. Bodyfarm is a bit too Amon Amarth-y, but still a nice gig.

Last couple of "gigs": Parsifal on Nov 25 & La Traviata on Nov 27 - both at the Civic Opera House, Berlioz' Symphonie Fantastique at Symphony Center on Dec 6, and then....*drum roll*

FOGHAT & Blue Oyster Cult last Friday.

I enjoyed all very much.

Next music gig (that is for sure/have a ticket for): Amon Amarth/Enslaved/Skeletonwitch on Feb 7 at House of Blues, Chicago. Other than music, have tickets to see three plays between now & then and other assorted events.

Unfortunately we're going back home on 28th, because that would've been a cool show to see. Luckily they do have a Finnish date too in January.

Aah, yes, my next gig will be the mighty Vomitory (with God Macabre and General Surgery) in Karlstad, Sweden on December 27th. After the Eindhoven show my expectations are ridiculously high.

What an amazing show the Vomitory farewell gig was. God Macabre was ok, but only played for 20 minutes. General Surgery was great, but, damn, what an amazing live band Vomitory is. At times it seemed like there was more people on stage than in the audience (not really, but they did have a lot of guests on stage), with guest vocalists like Tompa Lindberg, Johan Skägg and LG Petrov. The place was packed and, yes, an awesome night.
I'm still hoping Andy will take his head out his ass and convince them to play the cruise. I'm not ready for them to quit just yet!

Was also awesome to party with Ulrika and to see, if only for a quick meal, Tobias in Stockholm. Aah, well, we'll see in a month again.

Candlemass will be playing Ancient Dreams in its entirety. Should be fun, even if I'm gonna miss three (!) girlie bands because of that.

Next gig I'm going to is Amon Amarth in Ft. Lauderdale with YOU FINE PEOPLE! \m/ First time seeing them, which is ridiculous because they've been to Vancouver a bunch of times and I kept not being around for their shows.

Next gig I'm playing at is Feb. 17 in Vancouver with Dark Tranquillity and holy crap holy crap I am pumped.
