Last show: Unearth, Darkest Hour, Origin, I the Breather, Carnifex, Black Crown Initiate

All fucking great acts. Origin absolutely killed it, first time I saw any crowd-surfing at a Rochester gig, but they 1) demanded it from the crowd and 2) the singer did it as well. BCI played their Song of the Crippled Bull which I absolutely wanted to see live.

Anyway, yeah, Origin is 100% worth seeing again and having on the boat, IMO.

Next show: Don't know yet, too many weeknight shows. :( Maybe Nailed Shut and Obturated or the Dead Label/Prophyria show? But definitely Goatwhore/Wovlhammer when it comes up!

I am jealous of the amount of shows you go to. I've been going to ALL of the metal shows in my area the past couple months, and the next one isn't until the 3rd.

Last gig: Artillery/Onslaught (both bands were amazing even though there were only 30 people in the venue. Artillery didn't start until 11:20, and Onslaught didn't finish until 1:35...then my drive home with a 3:00 arrival...wife was not happy

Looking forward to seeing Artillery again on the boat). The rest of the concert was meh!

Next show: possibly White Empress on Thursday, Amon Amarth (in Milwaukee) on Saturday or nothing until November 13th.

Last week was extremely awesome for shows (Pearl Jam, King Diamond, Iron Reagan, Queensryche, Goatwhore). Three of them could make my top 10 shows for the year (PJ, KD, QR).

I have had a second job for years working security for shows. By doing that, I am/have been able to see a lot of shows. This includes shows that I might not normally have gone to. I also will travel out of town if I really want to see a show. My yearly total has dropped though during the last few years. I used to average around 150 national/touring concerts a year. I will be lucky to get 125 shows for this year.

As of yesterday, I think there is a drought for metal shows in my area until November 13th. There are a few 'core shows, but nothing I am interested in. I may do some traveling for the Amon Amarth tour this weekend.

I thought they were great. A friend had some small complaints. She is a music major & said the saxophone sounded a little off. She said it was due to the colder weather. The show was outdoors.

That's pretty dope! I only just got out of school, so I don't have midterms stopping me from going to shows anymore... travelling to shows may be something I start doing myself.

I know that feel. Midterms have stopped me from seeing a lot of shows these past years. I really hope Nightwish is on the cruise because I think I will be spending April 28th (the day of the SF show and my birthday) studying for finals.

I missed them the ONE TIME they came through Calgary because I had midterms like the next day. I would not mind having them on the boat if it means I can finally make up for that lost chance.

Yeah exactly, me too. My mom and older sister keep bragging about seeing them 3+ times but I have yet to see them at all. Hoping I might be able to make the San Francisco show as I can't think of too many better ways to spend a 21st birthday.

So at my local metal bar, the show will start at 3am this weekend, seeing as even "DONE BY 11PM" means "Maybe we'll be through the first opener by then."

I missed last week's local gig and don't plan on showing up for Dead Label tonight, so it's Goatwhore tomorrow, then Onslaught/Artillery on Saturday and Primus on Sunday. Then the metal acts drought returns...

The outdoor show was part of a yearly brewery special release. It was not that cold, hoodie or sweatshirt was perfect to help keep warm.
