Who will be in Wacken this year? Perhaps a small pre-party is possible?

I'm there with 4 other friends! Will be at Iron Maiden in Birmingham on the 31st, then London for 2 days and Hamburgh the night before Wacken (August 3rd). I think our Swiss friend Last_Candle will be there as well.

Oh, how I wish I was going again this year

(went in 2009 & 2010

) but since I can only manage one trip to Europe this year - decided to go to Hole in the Sky fest in Bergen end of August

instead (and good thing since it turns out it's the final one). Yeah Joey, I'm pretty sure Simon is going, as well as wildchild (Zeena) from Stockholm. Maybe Brodd (Craig) from Denmark as well who I saw there briefly last year at Tyr. Is Marlo in your group? I seem to remember her saying she was going. Have a blast all!

Hmm, there's fair chance I'll be in London at that time although it being a Monday and Tuesday I would be working during the day. But if you want we could grab some beers!

Cool! It's the 1st and 2nd, so monday and tuesday. We're staying at The Generator Hostel/Bar, it's like 800 beds and a bar so it ought to be a shit show. Let me know if you're gonna b there!

the wacken-festival is 1 month ahead and I think, that some 70k passengers will be there too. Hows about a Veteran-Cruiser-Meeting? :-) My plan is to be in Wacken at Wednesday the 3rd of August. My suggestion... Meeting 3rd of August in the evening at the beergarden? (Nr. 12)

Makign your way to Wacken on Thursday is just a bad idea.Same as going Wednesday after noon depending on what transport you are taking.

Personbally if i was going to Wacken again i'd make my way there on the Tuesday night or Wednesday morning the latest in terms of getting a decent camping spot and beating the traffic.

Yeah that's good advice. When we went we got there really early and there were still a ton of spots taken. Also, try to find some kind of high ground. There's a lot of filth that flows through that campground.

I went in 2009. Between the trash everywhere, the people that hadn't showered (myself included), the mud, the tipped over piss troughs and everything in between, it was a pretty rank smell throughout the festival grounds

We had some high ground so it was fairly clean around our tents but was still pretty nasty

If I live in Europa I always try to go to WACKEN !!!!

I don't go there every year. If the lineup is not good enough I'm visiting another festival. I usually go to 4-5 festivals in Europe every summer, so not going to Wacken isn't a big deal.

No they claim it's limited to that amount of tickets.But they sell a lot more than 75000 tickets and then there's a lot of fake tickets too and people who sneak into the campground.
