    Mortus, The Judo "Master"

    by Zeh » Sun Apr 25, 2010 6:06 am

Guys, I have received this video from a friend, please take a look:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuqboGYK9dA

It shows Mortus, Marduk frontman, doing badass Judo move on a kid in the middle of a song @ 1:16

My opinion: I like Marduk, mostly the old stuff with Legion. A guy like him would never ever do a shit like this one did. This is immoral, illegal and ethical. He had primary hugged the kid, did a messy judo trick landing the guy's back over the shaped monitor.

The respect I had with those guys have just passed away. If I was a band member, I'd stop playing and quitted the band immediately. But just before that, I'd throw something like a bass or a drum plate.

I really do not want to see them confirmed on this cruise ship. Someone could try do this with over the deck border, polluting the seas.

That's pretty intense. I can understand being pissed and pushing somebody off the stage because you are trying to do a show, but c'mon.

I like my music heavy, and I like music to be heavy in theory and imagery, but I still don't like bullies. I'm a softie I guess.

kept me from the last one, but I won't take "no" for an answer this time.

I've never seen that but I generally don't pay too much attention to Black Metal stuff..
The guy probably shouldn't have been on the stage trying to hug him in the first place.. but that was a brutal reaction to a pretty harmless stunt.

I think it is awesome that Mortus did that. Did you ever see what Tim McGraw did in Seattle a few years back?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RyeH37lkA0

Another favorite is the footage of Danzig getting punched out.

There won't be any violence on the cruise. If there is, it will be an americans fault. I prefer european crowds at a metal festival.

I remember getting pummeled in the Mortician pit at Milwaukee Metalfest 2000 and there were skins in the pit with brass knuckles and they were "karate chop" moshing and "spin kicking". They were eventually thrown out during Incanation.

Also when I was at Six Feet under, a couple of years ago there were two guys who were in the pit with brass knuckles and they were detained by security as the police were called and they escaped and ran down the street and it was in the paper. Some dude had a huge gash on his eyebrow and blood was trickling down his face.

Fighting or macho moshing suck ASS....

    Oh yeah for sure.
If guys want to mosh, there's the important factor of actually being decent to your surrounding metal brethren (in conjunction with this.. if guys want to beat each other up for the sake of fun, then not including surrounding bystanders is key haha)
European crowds are way more tame than the North American ones.. any fights will be most definitely started by someone from North america.
As it's turning out so far, I'm super happy with the largely international nature of cruise goers. It'll be sweet to meet all these people from around the world.

I agree 100%. But no disrespect to fellow north americans, so many of us are uncivilized.

I hope you can add brazilians to your list soon. Never saw big deals on shows and mosh pits. In fact, when older is the public, safer it is. I remember some good years ago, two friends of mine (respectively, vocals and bass from my band) were like moshing each other during Saxon tour in São Paulo.

A group of elder guys tapped on their shoulders, and politely asked then to stop. One of my friends is tall, having like 1.86m. Those guys were bigger than him.

This is cool on the scene: one look out for the other

agree 100%, recently saw W.A.S.P. in L.A., F'ing moronic a-holes moshing... to W.A.S.P.! WTF, Total disregard, I doubt the dumbasses had ever even heard of the band, just saw the metal crowd and decided it looked fun.

There, got that off my chest...

RE: the Mortus judo move, F'ing OUCH, slammed right onto the monitor, lucky if he didn't break the guy like a twig...
Disaster Area: a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones, are generally held to be not only the loudest rock band in the history of the Galaxy, but the loudest noise of any kind at all.

Luckily there's was no moshing for WASP when they played here last month. Moderate crowd overall. But yeah, I've seen plenty of dumb shit over the years from some of these "Mortal Kombat" moshers, even at something like a Blind Guardian show. Yes, Blind Guardian. However that was in Orlando, whose scene rather sucks, so they can keep 'em

Wasn't at the W.A.S.P gig in Dublin last year but apparently people started a mosh pit at it
