Arcturus is a good addition as is Napalm Death. Ramin Kuntopolku I've never heard of, one would think it's some kind of all star band. Apparently it's a grind act, so it could be good.

And who will meet up with me (and possibly my mates) at the central station and guide me there?

Am I supposed to bring anything?

Sure, it's still more than 13 weeks to go, but things will ehat up in June and I want all plans sorted well before that ;)

Well, we are not having it at Riikka's place, but in a big party facility in the basement. She lives in Tapanila and there's a train station there. If you come straight from the airport you shouldn't need to go to the central station as Tapanila is closer, but I guess Ville can give you better directions. Any one of us can come and pick you up at Tapanila station or at a bus stop in the area. Riikka lives very close to the station.

If we go for the bacon tasting, you just need to bring some swedish bacon, I guess. Or some bacon flavoured things, if you happen to find any that you think would be fun to taste. We'll get beers for you when we go shopping with Rhia and then you can settle the bill with her or us afterwards.

I looked it up on the journey planner and it looks like you have to take bus no. 61 or 53 from the airport and go to Tikkurila. From there you take the train to Tapanila. The complete trip takes around half an hour :)

Oh, and the better route planner for Helsinki region is at http://www.reittiopas.fi (www.reittiopas.fi/sv på svenska; www.reittiopas.fi/en in English). :beerwink:

Yes, but no need to plan that. When you get out of the airport, you only need to go to the bus stop and take the bus to Helsinki center. It's quite easy to find. I think it's no. 615 or if you are in doubt you can take the finnair bus. They both stop at the central station and we can meet you there.
Or we could also meet in Tapanila actually and go shopping there, if you don't have to check in at your hotel/apartment first.

I suspect Megadeath is the headliner for Friday and I can skip or leave early.

We'll plan details after running order has been posted

I think he meant that bands start later on Friday. I remember that last year we got there around 3.30-4 pm for Arch Enemy but I don't remember if there had been any band playing before them.

Seems there isn't any info in English. I think this is something that's based on the old small festival Jörisrock (also held in Suonenjoki). Could be other people behind this, but Suonenjoki being a really small place, I'd think there are same people involved.

I think it's more like "something for everyone" kinda festival. And Suonenjoki is between Jyväskylä and Kuopio, and you can get there easily enough (train from Helsinki). But I wouldn't go there.

I think gnoff and Laura (MadameLePink) know the accommodations in Helsinki far better than me, so I'll just shut up about it.
I've never stayed in a hotel in Helsinki.

The problem with Tuska this year is that is held the same week as the european athletic championships, so most cheap hotels have been totally booked for months. But then again what is your budget? There are a few hostels and it is also possible to rent private apartments as well. Those are cheaper than most hotels expect the Omena ones.
