I was sure they had decided to not go there (tour that is) was supposed to happen last year. My bro saw them at Rocklahoma in '07. We'll see what transpires...

:givebeer: and a tour from TRIUMPH

I was left with the impression that, as far as the 3 of them are concerned, it's a certainty. Just a matter of working out the details and all. But yeah, we all know how these things can go south real fast.

I am hoping for that with crossed fingers and toes. I missed out on that "Triumph- Greatest Hits remixed" CD/DVD combo that was released in the past couple of years. I found it new on Amazon.com for 11.89. :) The Triumph- Live at the US festival is so killer. Same tour I saw them on!!!!!! Triumph/Foghat tour I think

Foghat also rule. Fool for the Cityyyyyyyy I love Canadian rock/metal btw April Wine, Razor, Slaughter, Helix, Rush, etc

Helix would be a good addition to this cruise. I've always liked them, never had a chance to see them though. This was good music to listen to on the way to the bar. We used to call it slut music, along with Kix, L.A. Guns, etc....

    NO

NO NO NO NO NO!!! Abso FUCKING lutely NOT!!

They were almost okay in their day but then fizzled fast and rightly so. They got back together a few years back and performed on another of Canada's embarrassments (the mike bullard show) and were just nothing short of horribly awful. The band sounded weak and uninspired and the singer's voice was wrecked and he just mugged the cameras with this sad sense of desperation. Seriously, I'd rather see KickAxe or even Loverboy over these guys. Low grade pop rock trying to pass itself off as metal.

Okay, sorry for the rant, I guess we just discovered my one true entry into the 5 bands you hate thread

I haven't got mine either but there were posts from Wendy and other organizers explaining that it would take some time to get them all out as they had a small crew dealing with a huge number of orders. I'm not going to even begin worrying unless the end of July arrives and I still haven't seen it.

Like Autograph but not Loverboy...? I put them in the same category and admit to liking both! It was Helix's original guitar player Paul Hackman that died in a tour bus accident in 1992, I think somewhere in BC.

I must agree... Autograph, Loverboy and Helix.... all in same boat and could easily tour together imho. Part of me could enjoy a little bit of each of them but just not on this cruise k?

Lame about Helix's guitarist... We do have some very treacherous canyon type roads here.

Back to the topic at hand, I received my memorial package a little over a week ago. I did order mine on June 2nd, so hopefully the rest of you will be receiving yours soon enough, if you haven't already.

I was told that they had received like 6 or 7 thousand orders just in the first few days, so they were pretty backed up.

I like the first Loverboy album and also the 2nd album "Get Lucky" but that is it.

And I like duets so the Ann Wilson with Mike Reno smash hit was among a fave

    ALMOST PARADISE

That should be the theme song for the cruise.

According to the latest info, the memorial package will now only be available until the end of July, and then that's it.

So, if anyone hasn't ordered their's yet, then you'd better get on it.

You must have really enjoyed her work on Sap no?

Oh hell yes. And also the band she was in The Lovemongers. I still say she should have made a solo album.

Yes indeed, his 68th birthday would've been yesterday. Taken too soon, but a happy birthday and much rememberance :headbanger:

My friend in Seattle ordered his just shy of 5 weeks ago and has received nothing.

I told him "You must be patient Grasshopper"

I just want to see what it looks like!

I hadn't heard about the package...what a great idea. Does anyone have actually photos of the shirt? The image they show isn't very clear.

I'll try to remember to take some when I get home from work in the morning but may just send them to you in a PM or with just a link here as opposed to an actual image so as not to spoil the fun for those who haven't had theirs arrive yet. If you want one, you best act fast though... Cap'n Metal posted earlier that they won't be around after end of July :|

    Word of warning guys....

I washed my shirt here at work last night as, like most new shirts, it was a little stiff when brand new and a little big and loose fitting so was hoping to shrink it a bit. As usual with shirts of this type, I washed it in cool water and turned it inside out to help a little with colour and print preservation. Well, after one wash, one of the white spotlight/circles on the front already cracked and peeled a little, revealing some of the black fabric beneath and looking like it will peel more with wear and future washes.

So, if you're all about the collectible nature of your Dio tribute shirt, I recommend not wearing or washing it too much or maybe hand wash it. Personally, I buy stuff like this to wear it so am not bothered too much but just wanted to offer a heads up to others.
