Conrad wrote:"reliable source" haha That's what they all say. Unless the source was Andy, Allison or whoever else at UMC, "reliable source" doesn't mean anything.

And in conclusion: DORDEDUH for BARGE 2014!!!!!

Should give plenty of time for the announcements doncha think?
gnoff_the_creep wrote:Next Barge will likely not be on Majesty, even if happening in 2014, since by then the ship will probably have been taken out of service (I think it was 2014 that was the last year for Majesty).

If you are liking Negura Bunget, you really should check out the REAL band that formed from it's demise, DORDEDUH (only the drummer remained and continued NB to this current day).
Dordeduh is what fans would consider the TRUE version of that band these days:

And in conclusion: DORDEDUH for BARGE 2014!!!!!
Laura wrote:All this other talk about original band members prompted by the troll got me thinking about one of my very favorite shows from this year - Romania's Negura Bunget who I saw at a tiny club that holds about 100 people. I just started listening to them in January and they became an INSTANT new favorite of mine. When I saw they were coming to my town in the spring, I bought my ticket asap. Upon doing some reading up on them, I discovered that the only original member is the drummer (if I remember correctly). Well, when I saw them live that made absolutely no difference to me because all the new members (especially the singer) were able to recreate the songs so amazingly well. I talked to the singer briefly afterward to tell him how great they were and he told me he had just joined the band 6 months or so earlier. Anyway, as I said, none of that made any difference to me - I was just so thrilled to hear that magical music performed live.

That's probably the case but it's not 100% yet. At any rate, sounded like he was prepared with another ship already if need be.
Edit: Royal Caribbean has also denied the rumors about the ship being up for sale or taken out of service but not sure I believe them.
Conrad wrote:Well I've only been on it once, so I probably don't have as much a fondness as most would have. I don't really have a fondness for the ship itself, but mostly the size of the event. I'd have not much of a problem if it were to be moved to a bigger boat, as long as it remains at about 2000 tickets. I like how small and intimate it currently is.

I'm in agreement with you. I like the size of the event as is. I could have just as much fun on a new ship. Maybe there will be better food options too!

And why not?

Would make it impossible to have a pool deck stage
Evican wrote:However, it would mean that the crew assembling the stage are not going to get stuck on the ship because the stage wasn't set up in time.

Well I didn't think of that, but there were 2 pools, and only one of them got covered. I've seen pics of ships with water slides, and I can see the deck still having plenty of room for a pool deck stage and the slide not being in the way at all.
gnoff_the_creep wrote:yeah I asked Andy to get a ship with a waterslide, he said no can do.
Pretty much he had looked at over a dozen ships before settling for Majesty, since Majesty was the only one where he could make the pool stage happen and get rid of chairs in the theater.
The new ship he had his eye on was a bit bigger, all the rooms had balconies, but would make the cabins a bit more expensive.
That's about what I remember from that.
Oh and I say in regards to talks with Andy is how I remember them, I didn't record it or anything, I can have understood or remembered it incorrectly.
(or I could just be trolling, hahahahaa)
