Sorry if this is kind of a spammy thread, but since there has been a fair amount of interest in our first album and our upcoming second one on these boards, I figured I would create a place to post some updates regarding Cynosure without gumming up some of the existing threads.
As of this week, the album is fully mixed. People will be able to hear some stuff before the end of June!
We're going to release a bit of a teaser medley or trailer for the album as soon as we can get it all edited up with some graphics. Following that, maybe some very friendly metal website will do a write-up and have an exclusive stream of one or a couple of the tracks. A full album stream will follow and a digital release will happen this summer. We will release the album physically in the fall with an accompanying performance of the album in full.
The album was written between Fall 2011 and Summer 2012, and recorded between fall 2012 and Early 2014. The recording and editing process was extremely long due to the abundance of instrument tracks (100+ instrument tracks per song... [~12 drum tracks, ~4 vocal tracks, ~8 guitar tracks, etc etc] including lots of symphony instruments), and the fact that our computer couldn't handle the size of the individual projects. Hopefully the scope of the album will be clear when people hear it.
This is the first time we've had gang vocals and guest death vocals on our material, and the first time we've explored with sound effects outside of conventional instruments.
Of the nine tracks on the album, I wrote the lyrics for and was the main music composer for eight of them, so this album feels very personal to me.

but yeah, they got Sean from Divinity to do some growls on a few songs and Jake just does them himself live. Also, it's very much not a power metal album. Even less so than the last one.
