Is anyone else keeping an eye on this one? We might look into this one a bit more and see what happens with the pricing packages.

Yeah its an insane concept (but I guess a metal cruise sounded like an insane concept at first).

Will be interesting to see prices, how many bands, and the quality of the lineup.

Of course the Finn is the only one really interested   The Florida has spoiled us so I dont know how well we would take to the extreme cold. It just makes me think of Metalfest Croatia when we were freezing our asses off because it was raining and probably 40-50 degrees F. Airline left our luggage in the states so we had nothing warm to wear, even though that is warm for most people. Not sure how we would do in the snow.

That sounds epic. I'm just wondering do they close off the ski hill to the general public on those days? I'm Canadian and live close to the Rocky Mountains which has some amazing skiing but the Alps would be something I need to experience.

I think the concept is unique, awesome & amazing!!! Yeah - it's "cold" - it's "winter" - but that gorgeous landscape as a backdrop for music & a novel adventure - wow. I'd do it in a heartbeat if time & money allowed (s). Hmmmm.... :beerbang:

Well, it's not really "extreme cold" on the Alps. :beerwink:
And with right gear you can go ski and even enjoy yourself when it's cold (think below zero Fahrenheit). The only time I've felt it was too cold was some ten years ago me and a friend went skiing when it was -28 degrees Celsius (-18 F) and the wind was stupidly strong.

And the weather in Zadar was awesome. So nice and warm. :beerwink:

We will need to buy clothes just for the trip if we go

Zadar was awesome, the only night that sucked was the 2nd night (I think?) where it was raining. Since we didnt have luggage yet I was trying to man up in my shorts and flip flops. Doesnt work when youre a skinny shit like myself

I hope the concerts are indoors. It can't be easy to play a guitar when you can't even feel your fingers.

I see nothing but bad things coming from this.
People getting drunk, passing out and freezing to death.
would take one majestic line up for me to consider this at all

that besides the fact I would have to skip 70K to do so

It sell out the first hour most likely. My biggest reason for not liking this is you have to buy lift tickets,I can barely survive a "bunny slope",I do sledding if that was a choice but skiing and snowboarding are not in my interests.

Beyond the Black is an awesome add, don't care about the rest that much. Ok, Accept is a fun live band, but I've seen them a million times already.

I'm interested, but, yeah, depends on the pricing. I'd love to go ski on the Alps.

So bookings are open - any takers?

I find the prices very reasonable - kids under 6 free, 7-14 pay a reduced price. I like that idea.

We will keep this on our radar but we are going to pass on the first year. The whole ski lift thing from one area to the next is a big pass for me since im a big ole pansy when it comes to heights. Might need to work myself up to heights like that since id probably freak the hell out.

Two american couples we met at Metalfest Croatia are going, but im very surprised by how relatively inexpensive it is. I thought it would be a lot more than that.

I think I might consider this in 2017 also, wasn't ready to do anything like this because other travel planned. It was alot cheaper than I thought, I guess the lift ticket premium spread among everyone keep that part low.I even found they have snow tubing, which is something I love to do.

Is anyone going to this? I'm all booked up but now going alone, as my roommate had to bail. Trying to figure out how to get from Ljubljana to the festival right now. I'd love to split a rental car with someone. As an American, it's actually quite cheap for a rental (about 70 Euro) and w/ 2 people it would be the cost of the train or less. 3-4 and it would be even better.

I'm assuming the show is outside, it could work OK I guess provided its maybe hovering around the freezing point. No way I would do this, I'm a Canadian that can't handle the winter. Avantasia I on the bill along with Sabaton, Accept, In Extremo, Gamma Ray. They should draw pretty well.
