    Visa issues for bands

I came across this article today. Interesting, if rather depressing, rundown of some of the challenges facing bands who want to tour in the US.

It's a shame. The US gov't is really inefficient, and I think a lot depends on whose desk your application lands on. That said, it sounds weirdly protectionist that a band would have to jump through so many hoops to prove they are "accomplished" artists. They're not taking American jobs. Just ask them to prove they're touring and let them in.
Top Picks: Allegaeon, Angelus Apatrida, Arkona, At the Gates, Chthonic, Devin Townsend, Down, Eluveitie, Enabler, Ex Mortus, Exodus, Eyehategod, Finntroll, Havok, Hypocrisy, Iced Earth, Ihsahn, Kreator, Nervosa, Nylithia, Rotting Christ, Sabaton, Sodom
