New Shirt = Hard to Read
Hard to Read = More Brutal
    More Brutal = More Better

Therefore: New Shirt = More Better!

I remember when it came to new death metal bands where each one had to out brutal the next one with harder to read logos.

Ok, went ahead and ordered the new T-shirt design as well. For $13, tough price to beat for a shirt. Both shirts combined are still less than one (1) 70K shirt

Only other potential shirts I planned on buying were: Coroner, Hail of Bullets, Hooded Menace and maybe Ghost.

ONE MONTH AWAY!!!!!!!! Hoping for a repeat of 2009 weather. Not muggy or humid at all. :)

I pre ordered a MDF shirt and that way I am guaranteed one and do not have to worry about having money set aside for it. :) I would really only want a Coroner shirt besides as I have a Hail of Bullets shirt from 2009 MDF. :)

Not sure yet where we are going for drinks and dinner Thursday (My birthday) but there are 4 of us confirmed for this. Then we head to the Sonar for the pre party show. :)

Okay, time to hit the PANIC button. Check out Cornoer's setlist from last night:

    http://ratqueen.proboards.com/index.cgi ... thread=409

Anyone else concerned? 1 song from "No More Color". Half these songs are from Grim & Coroner, 2 albums I don't really know or give a rats patoot about.

I'm scratching my head thinking why in the world would they think anyone wants to hear any of these newer songs? I can understand maybe 1-2, but they could play all of No More Color and made people happy. I can see a riot breaking out at the Sonar is they try to pass this off as the headlining act.

Do they have any other shows planned before MDF ?
    WISHLIST

BOLT THROWER / MADDER MORTEM / SEAR BLISS / AEON / THE AMENTA / AUTOPSY / MDB / THE 11th HOUR / HAIL OF BULLETS / DORDEDUH / TRIPTYKON / NE OBLIVISCARIS / PORTAL

    The Sultan of Stroopwafels
    The Viceroy of Vegemite
    Loather of Power Metal

I'm not one to panic. I do agree that set is not what anyone wants. I'll keep my figers crossed that they change it up for MDF.
    They'll still be great, though.

A few good ones but by no means not a list I would choose

    2012 : Cabin #4025 - Pending

    Death Tribute / Atheist / Coroner / Opeth / Cynic / Morbid Angel / Kreator / Tankard / Vio-Lence / Hail of Bullets / Nuclear Assault / Impaled / Gojira / Heathen / Deadly Remains / Venom

I barely remember the material from those 2 albums, so I'll have to go back and refresh myself. I'm just hoping they know the MDF crowd and the finicky bastards we/they are and tailor make it for that event.

And maybe this is a wild guess, but are they choosing easier songs to play since supposedly Ron and Marky have not been playing bass/drums for awhile prior to this ? No Need to Be Human is a slow song and why that of all songs off No More Color, as that would not be at the top of my list.

I checked the gig list and there isn't any other show planned between now and MDF, so hopefully last night was a warm up to get their feet wet and they play a long and expanded set. And please no Purple Haze.

Ok, I'm calmed down. I just had this vision for months of at least half of No More Color, a whole bunch of RIP & Punishment and a bunch of Mental Vortex (which they are doing).

Yeah, a cover tune for a reunion gig is nearly unforgivable. The optimist in me is hoping for the same thing we all want, but the realist in me has lowered expectations. Oh well, Exhorder better play "Anal Lust"

I've been listening to the GRIN songs for the past few days and enjoying them more than I remembered. Even Coroner's "lesser" material is still better than most bands. If they are going to do the exact same set, they could drop Purple Haze and Der Mussolini and replace those with a few classics and it will be much, much better.

Damn, you have it down!!! you are all set!!!

I still have to buy my tix for Saturday and Sunday..... should probably do that tonight!

    Kevin,..
Mike and I did a listening party to Hooded Menace last night... Great shit!!! I thought they were Death/Doom.. but to me they sound pretty much like straight Doom... only a heavy Doom (no acoustic, or clean guitar tones, no clean voice). Anyways... I need to keep listening!!!

Now it looks like Death Breath and Devourment are out and In Solitude and Skinless are in. I can't go the the MDF site since it's blocked at work.

Pretty bummed that Death Breath is not gonna show. They were definitely one of the highlights for me.
Devourment are entertaining, but nothing terribly special.
    Not familiar with In Solitude.
Skinless are pretty damn good, though, and this will be their farewell show. Haven't seen them since 2003, so it'll lessen the blow a bit.

Never got around to Skinless before. Listening to them now, sounds like brutal death metal. I always thought it was gonna be death metal-lite, since I seem to see their named being played on XM Liquid Metal from time to time. Not really my cup of tea just based on this first song.

IS ANYONE PLANNING ON VIDEOTAPING THE EVENT? It would be nice to have Coroner's show recorded along with Ghost's first US performance. I just have a shitty digital camera, nothing special. Plus I'm lazy and don't want to hold my arm in the air for 90 minutes when I can watch and enjoy the show.

Sets time are up on MDF web page.
Going on Friday only. Work and Memorial Day weekend traffic on 95 will be an issue, but as long as I get to see COC, Kylesa, and Marduk I will be happy.
