Had my car broken into last month and had 40 metal CDs stolen.
I had them in a CD booklet thing and whoever broke into my car thought it was a good idea to take that but LEAVE THE FUCKING GPS AND IPOD.
Unfortunately, I hadn't put any of the music into my iPod (that's why they were in the car -- was getting ready to transfer them over).
I had a bunch of CDs still in jewel cases that were also left in the car -- luckily these were the albums I listen to the most.
So I'm taking this as an opportunity to rebuild my metal collection. I posted on Reddit about it and managed to get back my favorite power metal album -- Twilightning's 'Delirium Veil' -- and the guys in Nekrogoblikon sent me replacements of both of their albums ('Stench' and 'Goblin Island'). Also got a copy of 'Crisis in Utopia' from the guys in Holy Grail. My 'Ride The Void' album didn't get stolen).
I just purchased my first five albums to rebuild my collection. These are albums I had on my computer but never had hard copies of.
- Angra - Rebirth (previously owned this, but it's one of my favorites and I went for the special edition this time)
- Avantasia - The Mystery of Time
- Falconer - Chapters From A Vale Forlorn
- Falconer - Among Beggars & Thieves
- Human Fortress - Defenders of the Crown
This is what was taken from me:http://www.reddit.com/r/Metal/comments/ ... an/ca91nbr
I also realized that they got my Tyr 'Eric The Red' album, which I thought I had, but the CD wasn't in its case, blaaaaaaah.
The main ones I want to replace are the Excalion and the Highlord albums, but I can't find them for less than $30 and $48 respectively. Everything else I'll eventually get back.
tl;dr -- Got metal collection stolen, trying to build it back.
EDIT: I still have a good amount of albums, so no worries. It was mostly stuff I either bought pre-2005 or I bought very, very recently and hadn't brought in the house yet (the Skiltron and Vandroya were my most recent purchases). None of these albums were that listened to; all the ones I listened to were in jewel cases locked up in the middle compartment in the car.
