    Metal Trivia / Skill Testers

    by ShoreSlayer » Wed Mar 17, 2010 2:06 pm

Thought this might be a fun thread for passing some time here.

Rules are simple. You answer the previous question, you get to post the next one. Try to maintain the metal code of honor and don't use google or other modern methods for hunting down answers. Play it old school style! Also, If ya reply first with the right answer and you're CERTAIN it's right, go ahead and post your question rather than waiting for the previous poster to confirm you've nailed it. That would just slow things down. Enjoy

I'm far from a metal genius and am sure most of your questions will stump me so I get to start (mwuahaha)...

    Question 1)

If UDO and/or Accept get added to this amazing lineup for 70,000 T.O.M., what classic rock cover tune could the infamous German metal crooner get up on stage to perform with the boys from Raven that they recorded and released back in the early 80's?

Edit - I'd originally put late 80's but it was actually 1983... Hint, the album was a 6 song EP called Break The Chain

So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

Hmmm... too tough a question or just a lack of interest? If no one gets it by the 24 hour mark (1:00 pm PST), someone else post a new question or just let the thread die I guess haha :ugeek:

A song that I really could never hear again and live...Born to be wild. hahaha, so if it DID happen I would really rather them not do this *sigh* However it is a good cover and I'd rather hear it than the original just because it's a switch up.

How did this thread not take off?

Anyway, I just took this ridiculously easy 70's-80's metal trivia quiz. Got 100%, but nothing to brag about, it was really pathetically easy.

Here is a trivia question. Now, try to answer it pure if you can without using the internet to look it up......

How many full albums do Dream Theater have? This does not count EPs, live albums, DVDs, etc. Just plain full length studio albums. So the answer will simply be a number.

Bonus Question: Name every album in the order they came out (do not need years/dates, just the names in the correct order).

I heard him mention it in an interview years ago, but couldn't extract it from my memory so I had to wiki it. I will refrain from posting to give someone else a chance who might know it without assistance.

    VIATHYN!!!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!

It wasn't a terribly hard question but if you knew the band you would get this and with tons of the type of metal on this cruise I figured there had to be some DT fans but mysteriously they are very rarely mentioned on here. So weird. Anyways, YES, you are EXACTLY RIGHT!!! PERFECTO!!! YOU EVEN HAD THE YEARS FOR THE MOST PART TOO, FANTASTIC!!!

    Viathyn,
For winning my trivia question, I will buy you a drink on the ship!! :D

Yeah man I love DT! I'm also surprised they aren't mentioned here more.

I play a John Petrucci Ernie Ball Music Man as my main stage guitar! It was wicked to see them again last summer, me standing right in front of one of my guitar idols as he played the exact guitar (same colour too..) as the one I have! haha.

Thanks for the dirnk on the boat... I'll get you one too so we can drink together!
