What truly sucks is when these scientists study something their whole life with extreme dedication and passion and then die right before a breakthrough is made!

Not too much, but i have done some work for the next space telescope (a bazillion times better than Hubble) which is going to launch in a few years for NASA - The James Webb Space Telescope. I've done more work for fighter jets, naval satellites, and other space satellites.

None. That's why the next cruise needs to be to these new planets & back. I have no idea how to convert earth weight to space weight, so I'll leave the numbers up to you smart people. "*insert numbers here*TONS OF METAL: A SPACE ODYSSEY".

we're doing well with our part of James Webb (the beryllium mirrors and the motors that power them- built by us - http://www.jwst.nasa.gov/images_mirror52.html, but some other areas are behind schedule and over budget! we ain't happy about it either believe me!

HA! tons is a measure of weight and there is no weight in space...we must use kilograms...70000tons = 70000000Kg so...wait for it....70000000 KILOGRAMS OF METAL - A SPACE ODYSSEY!!! :headbanger: has a nice ring to it

the part i helped with is that along with a coworker, we improved the manufacturability of the flexures that control the small individual movements of the mirrors on the telescope. we reduced time/cost/defects on these.

LOL, a Voivod is actually just another name for a governor of a "province", or "voivodeship. it's a Slavic term common in Russia/poland/eastern europe.

if you can't be the president or king, i guess the Voivod is the next best thing....it's a super sci fi sounding thing though, which is why i like it so much. it sounds like void, it sounds like odd, i love it.
