And holy craps! It looks like Boston was playing a 13-and-under women's hockey team.

Why are you bitching? You got it right. It was no ASSIST, not no point
EvilDan wrote:Oh, and can someone give me a quick explanation as to why Denmark is in the juniors, when I would expect some other countries to have better young talent. (Sweden, Russia, etc.)

The Worlds consists of the A group of teams--This year it's Canada,USA,Sweden,Finland,Russia,Czech Republic,Switzwerland,Latvia and Slovakia.Denmark, gets in by winnning the B Group of teams-- relagation type sytstem. So, every year there is the B group entrant--some years it's Germany,or Norway, Poland etc.
There is a C group as well --Israel and Australia !!
So if Canada ends up last, they get dropped down to the B group. This came close to happening a number of years ago when Kazakhstan beat us!

Oh crap
Never mind
It's a replay of last year's semi-final

Total nailbiter but the Sharks must've poured it on and gotten a quick few shots in the dying seconds.
I GOT A HT FOR XMAS!!! Yay!

Something tells me the Finns might wanna stick to teaching their teenagers how to play metal
NuuX wrote:No, he actually got the assist for the last goal. Must have happened post game or something.

Guess that's HT for me. And another one tonight. Bad luck with Anaheim and San Jose mustering 61 shots or it would have been 3 in a row

It was an entertaining day for the Juniors. I expected some dominant wins, but I was thinking more like 4-1, not 8-1 and 11-3.

Tell me about it. It can get stressful watching the games for goodness sakes. I was PISSED about Russia last year - that was BULLSHIT.![]()
And wow. Just checked out what the Gold Medal game would cost, about $380-420 per ticket. Ouch.

Better finish last and miss the playoffs to get a good pick instead of struggling to make them and finally being kicked out in the first round in 4. I LOVE the Habs-Bruins rivalry, honestly; both sides know their hockey and are so passionate about it. But one thing I can't understand is how last year's events with Chara and Paccioretty can be something to brag about, I mean, it was just ugly, dangerous, even if it was legal (somehow). I have nothing against a good check, a good fight, but that one was wayyyy too much, and I really thought the kid was dead for a moment. I know Bruins fans love their hockey dirty and mean, but since last year, I've lost a bit of respect after their reaction to this hit. Hopefully the rivalry will remain, but I'd take a cleaner one, since if a rivalry means hurting other players, I lose my interest, I guess. No one would like to see Bergeron get knocked out cold by another dirty hit, mm?

I wouldn't be bringing up the hit if Pacioretty had serious injury as a result of it. Since he's fine, I can use it to add fuel to the fire.![]()
I recall a few of us arguing about it earlier in the thread. As a Bruins fan, I'm gonna be a homer on the issue and instantly crap on anything associated with Les Habitants.![]()
We do love our old time hockey here. Maybe if the Habs would not be bunch of flopping, crybaby pussies and actually punch the B's back in the mouth Boston would relent a bit. Yeah right.![]()
Read an interesting article on the B's goonism over the past couple of years. They're gonna keep getting away with it the more teams and the league lets it happen. The NHL needs to toughen up and join in the streetfight.![]()
I love hating on Montreal![]()
scyll wrote:Yeah well if the Habs start fighting instead of talking, the winner's quite obvious! I wouldn't dare to punch Lucic in the face, either!![]()
Anyway, as strange as it seems, I hate Montreal. The city, I mean. I'm from Quebec City, home of the ex(or soon-to-come-back)-Nordiques, but have always cheered for Montreal since I was like 5 years old. If a team is brought back in my hometown, I'm not sure I could resist the pressure not to change sides!
EvilDan wrote:The Stars have always had strong ties to Montreal, so I would root (any Aussies reading this?) for them regularly. I'm not as emotionally invested in them, or anyone in the East, especially since we have seen them so rarely. Hopefully, the realignment will help with this.
I also forgot to mention how interesting I found the Canadian fans booing the US in the Juniors to be. There seems to be real dislike of the US. Meanwhile, when it's Canadians in the US, we mainly react with indifference, or mostly rooting for them. Seems like the Canadians have an inferiority complex, while the US is just "meh" about Canada.
Not really looking forward to the Czech/Canada back-to-back. I guess the important one is to be the Czechs and hope they win a tie-breaker, since Finland gets their bye (Denmark) today.
mooyagi wrote:Stars and Bruins tomorrow, Dan. I hope your team gets destroyed.
