As much as I'd love to join you in your hatred Marlo, wtf??? we totally beat ourselves in SO many ways tonight.

Inexperience, immaturity and lack of discipline and composure taking dumb penalties when there was lots of hockey left to play just dug an insurmountable hole. Came as close as we possibly could have to tying it up in the end there but wasn't our night. Watching that game, I really regretted that we got the bye into the semi and that our initial pool was so weak and offered us pretty much zero competition with which to prepare for a tough elimination game

As an aside, how the hell did the commentators pretty much completely avoid talking about how that one Russian player totally ran over our goalie on that 4th goal? Me and my buddy were screaming at the tv wondering if we were the only ones that thought it mattered at all until they finally gave it a passing comment about 5 minutes later. Surprised our boys didn't respond to that either and take the guy's head off

I hate that we're not in it but still gotta say that's a good lookin' matchup for the gold medal game.

You know, I really, really like the Bruins. They're a great team. Last year, in my predictions, I put them straight where they went: as Stanleuy Cup champions. Even as a Habs fan. Yet, this year, I hope they get fuckin' destroyed, in any possible way. I love their team as much as last year. I hate their fans. And mooyagi's just the tip of the iceberg. Boston fans are so arrogant they just deserve to lose. As much as I like how they play, as much as I like Thomas and his epic goaltending, their fans are just... (put random negative word). I recognize the team's talents. I can't stand arrogance.

Nah I just figured since you guys took it on our ice, this is the Boston faithful's first chance to cheer for the Bruins while the guys ya took it from are on your home ice. And yes, of course, I'm hoping they taunt chant Lou and he stone's 'em to show he's still got some pride n' skill but who knows. Both teams are pretty hot right now so I expect a great tilt

Personally, I think 9-0 over some bottom feeders ain't quite as impressive as 2-0 over a contender but hey, a shutout's a shutout

The discrediting is probably a lot more prevalent now because every major team in the city has had ultimate success in the past 10 years. There have been seven victory parades in the city in that time. Those teams, with success and a sports media that has a northeast bias comes a target. They become the villains in the league. People get this idea that everyone is out to get them/discredit the teams' successes in any way they can. They return the favor. People out here LOVE the villain role so they take great pleasure in making everyone else miserable as a result.

Not to mention that the teams have been around for so long (except the Patriots) that some very fierce and long-standing rivalries have formed. Those always get ugly over time. You probably see more hate from B's fans because of the rivalry with the Habs.

Keep in mind, the Habs have dominated the rivalry over time. There's a lot of bitterness down here.

And don't worry. There is a looooot of cheering for the teams going on too. We just do it at the same time as all the other fun stuff.
