and yes Blumpkin (hahaha NICE name), i am of the philosophy that working out REALLY hard 3-4 days a week is better for short term results than less intense workouts every day. there's nothing wrong with that for overall health and wellness, but results (in terms of muscle building and fat loss) will stagnate.

Played two hours of wallyball, which is volleyball on a racquetball court, so you can use the sides. It was really fun though by the end of it my hands and arms were hurting quite a bit. Played some racquetball after that which is always fun. We ate some decently healthy food there and it was actually tasty. They sure like keeping the portions small, though. My cake for dessert was tiny.

Nope, most of us are far too lazy for such an endeavor

Seriously, I was dead tired every time I walked up from my cabin to the Windjammer on Barge. It's a long trip!

I never did that whole thing. Bits and peices I'd walk but 8 floors is a lot. That's commitment!

What "miles" are you doing that require weight, an ab belt and a stretch band?
Pick up the pace with Leslie Sansone as the popular fitness expert offers a total body workout designed to tighten the triceps, firm up the stomach, and slim the legs. With her patented boosters, Sansone offers an advanced level walk that's both invigorating and effective. A fourteen-minute walk with boosters gets things rolling before Sansone launches viewers into a brisk ten-minute mile, a waist-firming super boost mile with the Walk Belt, and two fast twelve minute miles - the second of which is performed using the toning Firm Band. As an added bonus viewers can get a jump-start on their weight loss goals by learning about Sansone's Seven Day Healthy Weight Loss Meal Plan and taking the Seven Day Challenge. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

On New Year's Eve, I caught the opening act of Pink & Gwen Stefani on some music show that aired live from Vegas that night. Stefani has such amazing abs!!I looked her up and she is 43. To boot, her two children were born when she was 36 & 38 which is exactly the ages I had my two. But here's the rub ....my abs definitely don't look like that!

A long time ago on this thread, I said I wanted to have "abs of steel"(I think that was an infomercial I saw once), but have I done anything toward that goal? Nope.

But seriously...
Has anyone here ever done exercises toward this goal specifically? What is/are the best? Yeah, I know there are tons of books & sites out there, but would like to hear people's experiences. I would be so thrilled if I could actually do this and reach that goal. We were at Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry yesterday and in the health/body exhibit there was info about how any excess fat around the gut is not good for your health & and the functioning of the organs in that area. And I'm aware that that is exactly the area where fat tends to accumulate, especially as one gets older. I've been relatively slender my whole life, but haven't worn a two piece bathing suit in years because I just feel kinda pudgy there (do not like). Haha - if Barge to Hell Part Deux really won't happen till the end of 2014, and I reach this fitness goal - maybe I'll actually wear a bathing suit onbroad or at the beach!!![]()
