I'll probably buy a XBOX after the cruise.

Have you ever seen a game named "Brütal Legend"? Looks to be insane

    It's pretty funny alright.
A lot of good metal songs on it and quite funny dialogue.
Came play is kinda mediocre though. Not worth the money in that sense.

Oh really? I though the game was acceptable at least. Shit...

Another cool game I saw was HAWX, and GTA4 of course.

I have a live account (Stackslayer) but don't play often... Just run around killing and getting killed in COD MW II when I'm bored.

Brutal Legend looks like a total hoot but yeah, I heard the gameplay is a big let down compared to the premise and talent involved.
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

Brutal Legend was fun, but I detest RTS gameplay. It wasn't as involved as typical RTS and for those specific sections I just put the game on EASY so I didn't drive myself crazy dying over and over. It wasn't hard to play or too often that you had to do it though. I couldn't beat the game as the last battle was kinda tough. So I just watched the ending video on Youtube and saved myself the frustration.

But driving around, blasting music from your car, talking with Ozzy & Lemmy and all the tons of metal references was a excellent.

Even if you don't want to buy it (I did but then sold it back for store credit) any true metalhead gamer owes it to themselves to RENT it at a minimum.

Anyways, when CRACKDOWN 2 hits in July, I will be probably be playing that for months on end and causing general mayhem and destruction. 4 Player CO OP & 16 player MP. I LOVED the original Crackdown, it's one of my all time favorite games.

    MMORPGs and such

Just a new thread for the non-console, online gaming chat that was sending another thread off course!

I was really hoping Diablo 3 would be out by now. Looks pretty cool and won't require the kind of time that WoW did

Haha! Well, for me that was the case anyways. With D2 it was just a matter of playing with one or two friends here and there whereas WoW was regular raiding 5 or 6 nights a week and then tons of grinding outside of raids. But yeah, I know there were folks who played Diablo daily too

I think Diablo 2 and WoW are both different kind of time sinks. With Diablo I could go on and play for 1 hour and make some progress... With WoW I hated having to set aside 4 hours at time (as much fun as it was!).
Plus I can still go back and pick up Diablo for a bit any time and have some fun. WoW's a bit more complicated... haha

Yep, for a few months. But in those few months there were nights where I just didn't go to sleep cause I was playing it. I also hate vent, but that's because I sound like Minnie Mouse over the microphone. =[

    PS3

    by junkhead13 » Fri Apr 30, 2010 8:29 am

I know there is a thread about Xbox360 gamers already, but I think we need a PS3 one.

I took a vacation from gaming from SNES until I caved and bought a PS3 in 2007. Actually I was on a retro kick in 2006 or 2007 and I fired my NES and SNES back up for a bit. Finally beat the original Ninja Gaiden that year!

I still don't have the chance to play too often, but when I do I am usually playing Uncharted 2 online...

If anybody plays that, look me up. My PSN id is junkhead13

I don't have a headset or any of that but it always nice to cause some chaos after a hard day!
Have a good time...all the time.

So... I'm off work for a week and have some free time to mess around so I go out today and buy Brutal Legend for $20 since I know it will have many fun metal references as well as probably some Dio nods.

I get home and settle in to play and, no sooner do I send a msg to an online contact expressing my excitement for having bought the game, my picture freezes up and I'm forced to restart.

Several attempts and a bunch of googling later and I find I'm looking at a dead unit. 3 red lights on the ring of death on the front and/or 2 seconds of the green globe flash screen intro before freeze up. I bought it 2nd hand so have no warranty so I suppose it's simply toast unless anyone has any suggestions.

Pisses me off cuz I'm low on coin this week as a result of cruise payment so was looking forward to getting hours of enjoyment out of a mere $20 purchase. Now I'd have to go buy another box to play the F'ing thing lol.

Just unwrapping it now. I figured, if I'm gonna splurge on a new console, I may as well pick up what's supposed to be a great new game. Traded in a bunch of old crappy ones for $30.00 off to boot.
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

I'm just messing round in single player mode atm but something tells me we should start thinking about cooking up a metal posse sometime soon!!
