WizardBeast wrote:hey, since this thread is for sharing our artsy or business endeavors...whatever....how about poetry? anyone write? i have a few pieces i'd like to share. these are 4 of my favorites out of my old collection. i've written lyrics too but those feel very different since they have to fit music. anyway. enjoy or not. i'm such a nerd.
"Progress"
Sexless masses
Sexed individuals
Vexed society
All across “civilization”
An unhappy coexistence
Doomed to soulless duality
Confined to lie behind
Vacant, lifeless eyes
Exponentially increasing
Humanity has learned
How to destroy itself
With the terms of its
“progress”

"come again"
parting ways
like old clothes
don’t fit anymore
wish you did
keep in case
you fit again
you’re still here?
weren’t discarded?
hope kept you
in my closet
can’t feel you with me
can’t see you on me
someday you may
fit me again
probably not.
hurts me but
hurts you more
you long to be worn.

"Not Whole"
Every time I close my eyes
I start to hear the clamoring
Of an uproar…
As the din swells
Something discernible rises
Above the crowd, one voice
The child has been abandoned
I’ve left it to die
I’m light years away now
But I still hear it wailing,
Its shrill cries piercing me
Scraping and lacerating me
Above all others I may have hurt
This child will not cease
In reminding me of my desertion
I did not want it to live this way
But I had no choice
For its death would be suicide
Never can I go back to retrieve
What has been lost in time
I must coexist with them,
These ceaseless screams of a child
And hope that someday
They will no longer bother me.

"Manifest Destiny"
Touch me.
There’s no better way to see.
Feel me.
There’s no better way to know.
Tell me.
There’s no better way to listen.
Manipulate me.
There’s no better way to feel.
Lead me.
There’s no better way to mock.
Control me.
There’s no better way to fuck.
Invade me.
There’s no better way to dream.
Poetry isn't too much my thing but these are nice, B-Bud!
