metalgoddess wrote:My New Year's Resolution is to give up drinking on weekdays Monday throught Thursday (unless I'm at a show or on vacation). So far, I'm successful.

Giving it up entirely is impossible because I love the buzz. I let stress get to me over the last couple of years, so I've been drinking wine everyday when I get home from work. So I'm saving money and reducing my intake of calories! I can down a bottle of wine myself in a night. So at say $8 a bottle, I'm saving $32 a week and 700 calories x 4 nights a week = 2800 calories! Plus I can get more done around the house and make more time to exercise!

It's a reasonable resolution I can stick with. Unfortunately, last night I drank as I usually do and after four days off, I got trashed. LOL I'm gonna have to cut back on the weekends too, I guess.

i have a wee bit of a hangover today myself....boo. i too am trying to cut out drinking on weekdays! i didn't drink every day, but i really am thinking the same- save it for the weekends and save money and calories.

Actually, last year one of my resolutions was to have a glass of red wine a day, since it's good for you. Didn't last very long

I know a guy here that always brings boxed wine to parties... when he gets sleepy he takes the bag out of the box and then uses it as a pillow... sometimes he "has to" drink some to make his pillow more comfy

Those foil bags have sealable taps. You can pour out all the liquid, rinse it out, fill it with air and you'd basically have to jump on it to pop it

honestly, bottles with natural cork stoppers in them are THE worst way to store wine. 3-5% of corks actually rot and way more dry out and crumble into the wine.

screw caps on bottles (and bags inside boxes) actually store the wine much better, but the cheap-wine stigma associated with the humble screw cap prevents this from being the way to go, proving once again how stupid people are.

wine in a box (or bag in a box) is such a NO GO!
I would probably even refuse to drink it :)

There are actually some very high quality wines that are putting their product out in boxes, specifically because of the storage/ease of use aspects.

Yes, that is a good poster, very funny :D .

I make little resolutions throughout the year or whenever, but I kind of made myself a new years resolution to drink more, .... and eat less. but eating less is a resolution I make every day... so the drink more is really the new year's one.
