Grileld ox back with saute of chorizo and white cabbage, herbal forrest mushrooms (well I'll try and get rid of those), creamy pepper sauce (I do eat that actually), smashed potatoes (stomp, not sure how to translate that) flavored with crispy BACON

Not sure what biers they have though, but know my friends usually end up there when everything else is closed, so they should have some sort of bier

You can do so many interesting things with different sorts of hops, though, so many different combinations of flavor available.

My interest in the highly-hopped biers wanes during the winter, but on a hot day, there's nothing quite like a bottle that's so resinous you feel like you need to scrape your tongue afterwards

There's definitely a bit of an IPA obsession out here. The Arizona breweries I've encountered (and the California ones when I was living there) all seem to tend towards more hoppy beers. It's gross!

Have you mainly had US fairly strong and bitter IPA's?

I like the euro versions better rather often, less ABV and less bitter.
Or some of the US ones that has more caramel/is more sweet and less perceived bitterness.

If you haven't try any IPA from Southern Tier if you can find it, I like them a lot and I'm not huge on bitterness myself.

If it's the hops themselves you don't like, or rather the character from them, I guess it's harder to get you to like IPA's :)

Stupid beer bar had almost nothing but IPA's on tap tonight. The online list wasn't up to date. Everything that looked good, they had just run out of.

Thankfully, we got a fresh keg of Left Hand Milk Stout opened for us.

There are a couple of decent hoppy beers but maltier certainly is better.
