yeah some people have already sent in Iron Maiden pictures of receiving it.Currently i think you can only order a case from the brewery. The problem about this is the shiping cost and i suspect once shipped over it wil get stopped in customs where whatever country you live in will place whatever alchohol tax they have on top of it.This is somethign i need to find out about.I know when ordering a case of mead from Germany i didn't have this problem.i think beer is different though.

I think it's all about luck whether you have to pay tax or not. I ordered 24 bottles of beer from Brewdog in Scotland and it sneaked past customs just fine. But I've seen people having to pay taxes, so, yeah, it's just luck.

Systembolaget has stopped the beer "Trooper" for any sale due to its label.

"A skulled monster with a bloody sword and a Brittish flag is not compatible with Swedish alcohol laws."

It is faaar from the first time a beer can not be sold due to the label...

IT should still be able to be sold at bars though.

Brewing a pale ale today, skipping the shows, just feeling like creating something and then after relaxing at home with some beers

will be a mix of US (Cascade) and NZ (Riwaka) also with a twist, added Coriander/Cilantro for some extra summer feeling to it.

Bubbling away nicely this morning.

My mead from Friday has yet to start a noticable fermentation, but I'm sure it will in some days.

oooh my
had my annual tasting of a speciality beer yesterday
for the ones who want to know more about one of the absolute best beers I have ever had, here goes

O’Hanlon’s Thomas Hardy’s Ale (2003 - 2008)

Rerate - 8th annual tasting of my 25 year quest
2005 vintage, bottle no 04549.
250 ml bottle marked 11.7% vol. Black cap and medal around the bottle neck.
Sampled on May 11, 2013.
Pours clear dark reddish brown color, displays a tan bubbly head.
Scent comes out lovely and intense, leads out with raisins, dried prunes, malty, sweet, sugar, molasses, fruit cake, alcohol, dark chocolate, port wine, madeira, then after a while also comes a note of wet tobacco as well. Lovely lovely stuff, can smell this forever.
Taste then is powerful and intense as well, it is sweet, smooth, tobacco, sugary, muscovado, raisins in cognac, port wine, fresh raisins, it just won't stop, beautiful, intense and lovely, also very complex.
Tobacco and raisin aftertaste.
Warming alcohol, but in a glowing good way.
Big, smooth, velvet like mouthfeel.
Medium low bitterness.
My first comment on the beer to my mate after some sighs was "why don't they make this beer any more?".
2005 is one of the best vintages I've had from this beer, and I feel lucky this is the vintage I chose for my 25 years of "try one per year" journey.
This rerate is my second 5.0 beer so far after mroe than 7 years on ratebeer to this date.
Lovely and awesome, I am in awe as to how this beer has developed until now. I can't see how the beer will improve even more to my taste, and the coming yearly event for the next 17 years will be interesting indeed.
10/5/10/5/20=5.0

Don't know why I didn't see this thread earlier.
I haven't been buying much lately. Mostly drinking my own, which now is a porter.
I just bottled some mead (hiprocras) last week, and have a small batch of spiced apple wine fermenting now.
The last beer I bought:
Image
From New Glarus, one of my favorite Wisconsin breweries. It's the result of a smaller cherry harvest that is normally used in their "Belgian Red" a lambic sort of beer. I think I almost like this mixture of fruit over the pure cherry one. Pretty decent stuff if you like sweet/sour stuff like that.

Put a brown ale on bottle tonight, will be competing with it early June.
Also racked a pale ale to secondary, US and NZ hops and some coriander.
Measured my mead that is very slowly fermenting, first time on this yeast. When done I'll flavor it with blackberries in the secondary.

Will brew tomorrow morning, likely a variant on a brown porter, with a twist, we'll see what I conjure up.
Hope to find the energy to measure and grind my malt tonight to shave off half an hour or so tomorrow, need to get done early and head to a birthday party later on.

Ive been kind of absent from this forum lately haha. I cant think of any really intriguing beers ive had lately, but thats only because I missed out on a local brewery's Brett release  7venth Sun Brewery bottled up a batch of Brett Saison Extreme 3 that went on sale friday evening...and was completely sold out by mid saturday morning. Just lameee.

Ill be kegging my wheat stout tomorrow, so ill finally have enough beer kegged to have me at a little bit of a bottleneck when it comes to brewing. I was going to try my hand at a wine, but I ended up deciding to try my hand at a lager for the first time. Going to brew up a Munich Helles tomorrow, so im quite excited about that. :beerbang:
