oh sweet lord that beer was fucking amazing!
Out of my about 4300 beer ratings it took the second place straight up!
Great Divide Barrel Aged Yeti, and most of it I can say is:
DAMN!

I mainly like the dry and or sour ones though, can't too sugary or they taste like fruit juice

Monmisreal wrote:Hrmm, I really cant think of it now. To get a similar taste all you need to do is grill up some BBQ, burn it all hell, then inhale the smoke. I normally dont mind smoked porters but this one was way too overpowering.

Perhaps it was called
Hollister The J

??

Not to be misstaken for the one sold as "Tradition" though, but ratebeer collects them both under the same one
Cherry beer to the sweet side, the tradition one is very evident in the chacter from spontaneous fermentation, so that one is rather sour (but oh so gooood)

Did you buy a bottle of "Baronen"?
If so, let me know how you like it!

As for the barley wine, it's mainly to the sweet, malty, grainy, alcohol side, not overly bitter as some can be

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Exotic yet mild lager... Sublime complexity and intriguing malt character glow from this traditional amber lager. The hallmark beer style of Germany's Franconia region, this beer features beech-wood kilned malts for a softly smoky and rich flavor. Overall mild and mellow, this one's a fascinating treat!

There's a beer bar out here that has it on tap every now and then. Pretty decent.

AlaskaRachel wrote:tried one of these for the first time today. Not my favorite beer. Average and overpriced, IMHO.
Although it did bring me laughs. The cork shot off too easily and was (not exaggerating) half an inch from destroying a hanging light in my parents house. Also, it foamed so fast that for about 10 minutes I just had a full glass of foam with no actual liquid in it. My friend kept calling it "bubble bath beer."
