Old RHCP music is soooo gooooooood. Not a big fan of their newer stuff, its catchy and good, just not as addicting as their older songs.

Hey you could go to the Edmonton show, it IS in November.

Ooooo I could...I only have enough money saved up to stay until August without a job, so I won't be able to buy tickets until I know that I'll be employed :beerwink:

Save up some cash and go scalp some tickets after the show starts. You can get a good deal. It's risky and I never do it but in some circumstances it has to happen. For Blink 182 when I randomly decided to go to the Edmonton show I bought after the show started and got row 6 right next to the stage. I'm guessing a scalper cancelled their tickets or something. It's usually pretty easy to get tickets to big shows. :beerwink:

What is scalping? This isn't where you wait outside and ask if anyone's selling tickets is it?

I'm not going to the Edmonton show ;)

It's more when there's "Scalpers" that have bought up a bunch of tickets and want to try and sell them at a profit, so they wait outside saying "anyone need tickets?" Usually more expensive but if you wait long enough they'll just try to make their money back or even just throw the tickets away. Sometimes you can actually find tickets in the garbage near where the scalpers stand if it's like half way through the show already. I've never looked but I know this happens.

You can always get high marked up tickets through legal scalpers like StubHub too. That's usually what I do for sporting events since they're always sold out

So that's what they are called. Those guys are SO annoying. I've never hit a person in my life, but I swore I'd punch the next guy who walked straight up to me and said, "Sellin' tickets". It really is a pain commuting via a train station that doubles as an arena. If you want some tickets, I'd be happy to take some off of the beaten bloody corpse of the next scalper I run into.

Dude, really? The scalpers are the ones pissing you off outside a game? Not the drunken louts like me? The scalpers are usually quite passive when they're selling (since it's illegal they can't be too direct) and you just say no or say you don't have tickets. Simple as that.

The drunken louts are probably what make the scalpers so annoying. When I make it to the train station, tired from work, I'm so disgusted with them that it infuriates me when the scalpers mistake me for one of them. Their grating Boston accents certainly don't help either.

was offered a job getting paid almost as much as I was being paid after 7 years at my last job (and automatic raise after 90 days will have me being paid more than previously)... and NONE of the stress. Essentially I'll be getting paid to walk around, though I'll have to deal with weather (who cares, right?).
Was also offered a tentative position at an investment firm, and while the income potential is incredible, so is the stress potential...

checking meters for gas company. Aside from the lack of stress and ability to enjoy being outside and hiking around, they have opportunities for advancement galore, and the possibility for relocation with moving expenses paid for (or partially paid for) which could be pretty helpful to me.
I'm interested in the Investment job and kind of want to at least see what it is really like, because the income potential is insane... but I always hear about the stress and crazy hours of those jobs and just don't think I want to deal with that

10 cents for an avocado.

you are right. any music should result in guilt-free listening, if that's your thing that's your thing!

but i see mooyagi's point about anything being labeled a "guilty pleasure" on this forum if it's not metal.

anyway, i have a lot of fun listening to Devo and The Fixx...not much metal there, and zero guilt! Saved by Zero!

Man! Are you sure that you never lived in MN because with your taste and guilty pleasures, I am sure we would have run into each other at a lot of shows. LOL
Something tells me you know some of the same people that I do here in the metro of the Twin Cities.

Hooray for living in a country without much criminality. Yesterday we went out for most of the day and when we came home our door was wide open... Nothing was stolen, it was just the door that sometimes doesn't close properly  It's not the first that it happens, but we get a bit of a scare every time!
