Oh, man - this meme rules!! (and is my sentiment exactly) Some of my fb friends saw my post from a few days ago stating I was thinking of springing for a last minute ticket for Sunday night's final Dead show at Soldier Field (where I saw them several times in the 80s, as well as other venues in IL and Wisconsin). The original tickets had sold out in seconds, and then I watched the secondary market prices go up and down - peaking in the thousands of dollars for one ticket. As of Saturday, I could have gotten a Sunday night ticket way up high in the stadium for about $400. In the end, I decided to skip it and hold on to the memory of those 80s shows with Jerry. Ultimately, the mega-commercialism and $$$$ surrounding those final Dead shows just seemed wrong to me. I think Jerry might agree.
