Any other quiet, non-drinkers going to be on board?

    by Bassman2112 » Sat Jan 15, 2011 5:06 pm

It's been a ton of months since I've last posted/logged in, but I'm definitely getting really amped about escaping the snow & work for a week and seeing a ton of killer bands.

For myself, though - I have never been a drinker (though I've drank lightly in the past, I just don't get the appeal of drunkenness and don't drink at all anymore), never been the destructive/aggressive type and am fairly soft-spoken. Hopefully there'll be some like-minded people on board, or on the boards haha. Even if there aren't any, I'm just looking forward to meeting a ton of people from far and wide =)

Also, hopefully you guys won't be too harsh on us little quiet guys haha.

wow, i will let my partner in crime metalwrath chime in on that one.

if i did not drink I would enjoy watching people get drunk and make a fool out of themselves and I DO drink and my motto is always "To Each Their Own"

I was going to post that I'm currently not drinking, then I realized you said quiet and non-aggressive. Nevermind, that still leaves me out.

I drink, and I talk a lot, but if you don't, cheers!

Me too, I am 6 foot 3 and tell "tall tales" while drinking. :)

I am loud and abrasive and have a really loud laugh and voice.

My wife is quiet but not a non drinker. Sue probably won't be watching many of the bands, as she is more hard rock than metal.
Saxon and Raven she will watch.

Yep, me too. With all the power metal bands, trust me, for all of YOUR sake, it's a good thing I'm not drinking. I shoot my mouth off pretty loudly enough as it is sober. Heh!

(I can just see myself in a huge drunken rant over this, hence the example.)

I'm not really a drinker although I might have one or two at some point, I'm definetly not a loud person either and at shows I usually prefer to hang in the back, relax and enjoy the music.

It's sooooo hard to quit! Now that I have my new job there is not as much reason to drink. Ron and I are thinking about quitting after the cruise. Although I do love a glass of fine wine with good food, so maybe just cutting back would be the best way to go.

However, drinking does make everything a little more fun!!! :heavydrink:

I just got out of the hair salon where they serve me wine as they do my hair. So nice!

Oh yay! Yet another funny 70k thread! For the record - I can be quite loud (husband has dubbed my entire family "the loud family" :? I am also an incessant talker (hubby and kids have learned to "tune me out" when necessary - especially at 7:00 am when I've already had FAR too much coffee.
    :shred:

,...oh, and I love to drink lots of beer (but definitely NOT to the point of "out to lunch" oblivion.

Myself and my fiance are non-drinkers and aren't all that boisterous, so you won't be alone! Although I believe everybody is going to have a good time, drinker or otherwise. You'll be fine. :)

I'm not planning on drinking much, plus I'm socially awkward which usually equates to being quiet. I'm sure there'll be a bunch of people who aren't posting on the forums who'll be like-minded also.
Even if you don't drink you'll probably be feeling a bit drunk just from the high of seeing all those bands. :headbanger:

If i did not intend to get wasted on this cruise and causing mayhem then i would not even have bothered booking this cruise.
Festival without getting drunk is a serious fail.
As far as i'm cocerned seeing the bands is a bonus and not a neccasity

I'm the same, but that's one of the reasons why I drink. I'm much more talkative and friendly with a bunch of beers in me. :heavydrink:

For myself, though - I have never been a drinker (though I've drank lightly in the past, I just don't get the appeal of drunkenness and don't drink at all anymore), never been the destructive/aggressive type and am fairly soft-spoken. Hopefully there'll be some like-minded people on board, or on the boards haha. Even if there aren't any, I'm just looking forward to meeting a ton of people from far and wide =)

Also, hopefully you guys won't be too harsh on us little quiet guys haha.

Fine by me....everybody enjoys it in his or her own way. I'm also a quiet soft type. But I do drink from time to time (which will make me a bit more talkative). But responsible...especially on sunny and warm festivals. I don't mind if people don't drink...as long as they are cool that I'm having one. My festivalbuddy/cabinmate is a nondrinker...so you'rr definately not the only one.

I wouldn't worry too much, we will all be respectful (mostly) of ur decision and you can have a laugh on us.

I drink because I love the taste of beer and scotch , getting drunk is just a bonus.

I don't drink, except for wine on rare occasions (but doubt I'll drink on the cruise due to prices). And a lot of people that don't know me always say I'm so quiet, but my friends say I never shut up...

I actually quite enjoy piecing together the previous night with the stories and rumors circulating along with whatever strange pictures I find on my camera. It brings out the detective in all of us. I'm a regular Sherlock Holmes at this stage :D
