What confuses me about the lists is that, this is a thread about genres, not bands. Couldn't those lists be shortened by simply replying to what the thread title is asking?

Dark Dreams wrote:The title should be changed to "want to see MORE represented"... since a lot of genres are already represented ( most people here obviously are not too much into the nu-Metal/core stuff)
I remember reading some while back that they will go back to Scandinavia for sure, that might even take care of more Death and maybe some Black Metal (I could do without).
Some more Power and Prog would be nice.

And I'm not trying to get Slipknot and Korn here haha
Just saying it seems everyone sticks to a couple of subgenres and that's all.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some Amon Amarth, Saxon, Sonata Arctica, etc
Just seems everyone gets really serious about it too which I'm sorry but I find pretty funny lol
I just wanna hear some metal and rock the f*ck out

Okay that is true. It did seem like I was speaking for everyone and I do apologize for that.
I guess I should have said MOST people haha
But yes, we are here for the experience. I rarely get excited about things, but I continue to think about the cruise everyday :)
I have always felt metal has been very open to people. It's a fun genre and metalheads are awesome. People who love metal relate SO much better with each other than any other genre. If two people who like the same band meet, they get kinda excited and can talk on and on about that band, something I never see with anyone else.
I'm kinda blabbing on but I'm just excited. I don't get to meet many people who enjoy metal like I do, so to think I'm gonna be with almost 2000 metalheads is quite a nice thought haha

aorian wrote:It's a bit upsetting to me to see people bashing some genres. I find myself to be pretty open to music. Not only in metal, but other genres as well (except rap lol)
It saddens me to hear people say they hate metal and aren't open minded. But some people saying they hate bands like Trivium, 3 Inches of Blood, and others is a bit disappointing IMO (granted some bands aren't QUITE gonna fit in)
I'll listen to Testament then go right to Bleeding Through.
I was thinking this was a huge metal cruise ship, but it seems some people aren't open to ALL metal, just certain sub-genres (but alas, every has their opinions and I respect them)
I'm just happy to go on a cruise AND see metal. What more can I ask for?
