here is a photo of one from Celebrity Cruise lines, but they are all similar. Pretty small, big enough for wallet cell phone passports cameras but not much else. Something like a laptop would not fit. They open and close using your room key, which is convenient.

Note: the safe only opens with the card that was used to lock it, so if you are storing your cabin mate's stuff in there as well you'll need to keep that in mind. If you use your card to lock it and end up passed out somewhere your roomies won't be able to access the safe using their cards. At least that is the way the safes on Carnival ships work.

and if you get lucky, please remember:

I cannot stop laughing at the Safe Sex animation.

So lucky to have my best friend as my cabinmate. I'm sure no one's going to steal any of your shit though. Unless you're rooming with Swashbuckle.

If you're that worried about it and have reason not to trust your cabin mate, I recommend leaving it at home.
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

I've heard many ppl talk of bringing theirs. I'm bringing mine so I can take pictures and videos off my camera at the end of the day to make room for the next day. Also cuz it's the only way I can charge the battery for my little video camera.

Yeah, I have one for my phone but have never tried it for my little vid cam. I'll have to look into that but, either way, I still need the laptop for storage.

I bringing my little netbook so I can offload my pics and video as well.

You should have a little notch on your laptop that you can hook a security cable to. (that's what I'm doing)

I would honestly, I'd like to have my personal computer close to me in the private of my very own cabin and not worry about other people looking over on my workstation in the internet lobby.

Also consider that the computers in the lobby are really locked down to keep them secure so we don't really have the option of using a browser that we know from top to bottom.
