Granted most of these dudes I just would like pictures with but Moonspell and Marduk guys would be cool to talk to.Since Morgan is a "OG" black metaller I'd like to her his 2 cents where things (and Marduk) are headed. The dudes from Twilight of the Idol would be cool, though since they are all pulled from other bands I'd probably want to shoot the shit about that rather than bathory. So yea, mainly just Morgan and Fernando if I could just chill at a bar with em and listen and talk (with drink on me of course ). All the rest are cool, but would just like pictures.

Most of the other band members I might think are fellow passengers. Cept for like John Tardy or someone like that. It'd still be cool to see them but don't know much of their disc aside the first 3.

Oh, and I'll hang with any musician that actually wants to hang out n chat. Not into meeting any who are overwhelmed by the fans and feeling like it's a chore. Let 'em enjoy the trip too. Having said that, Trouble, Raven, Death Angel, Exodus and Testament crews and Uli are all up there on my list of people who's stories really interest me.

When my family and I took an RC cruise in June, we bid on and won (along with a few other families; proceeds went to charity) tours of "The Bridge" where we met the captain (the first female captain of a major cruise ship - Karin Stahre-Janson from Sweden ), and the Engine Room and other "guts" areas of the ship. Cool! We got approval to take pictures (although only had my iPhone with so pix aren't that great), so I'm assuming it's ok to post a few here.

Many, many, many of you crazy lot; Zachary Stevens from Circle II Circle; the guys from Dark Angel (again); Gary Holt from Exodus; Kai Hansen from Gamma Ray; the guys from Moonspell; the guys from Nevermore & Sanctuary; Alex Skolnick from Testament; and Uli Jon Roth. I'm excited as hell just being on this cruise and meeting any of the band members would be great. Alex and Uli probably are at the top of my list though.

Actually, I don't plan on meeting any musicians. If I happen to bump in to some (and maybe even have a beer with them without knowing whom I'm speaking to ) that could be fun, but I'm not the fanboy type who desperately wants to speak to one of his heroes or collect autographs. (No offence to those who do, but for me it's not that important). I can imagine that some of the band members are simply cool guys (or girls) to share a beer with though.

I didn't do any of the official meet and greets, nor did I seek to meet any band members in particular - however.....I did end up saying hello to about a dozen and getting pix with a few just by seeing them randomly on the ship - so AWESOME! It was so great telling them how much I appreciated their music and how GREAT their cruise performances were....

I saw Uli Jon Roth in the karaoke lounge around 4-5 a.m Friday - told him his pool deck gig was one of my very fave cruise gigs, if not my VERY FAVE cruise gig - the guy is such a legend!



Saw Schmier of Destruction near the bar in the Spectrum Lounge - I only started listening to Destruction since they were announced for the cruise and they are one of my fave "new bands" - both their cruise performances were brilliant. (and good god almighty - Schmier definitely deserves to be on the "for the Ladies" "hot" thread on the off course forum )


Saw Jonne of Korpiklaani at the Transit Lounge pre-party in MIami - was happy to tell him how equally great they were performing in front of thousands at Wacken in 2009 and at a small club in Chicago last January. Saw both their cruise gigs and love those as well - also loved it when Jonne joined Finntroll on stage during their second indoor set!


I had met Heri and Gunnar after a Tyr gig in Chicago before, but it was great to finally meet and have a pic with Terji!
