After visiting this forum for about 1,5 years I think the time has come to introduce myself.

City/country:
Stockholm, Sweden (Actually I have moved to an island right outside Stockholm called Ekerö (Translates to Oak Island. Also our beloved king Carl XVI Gustaf resides here) ...and if someone cares Stockholm translates to Log Isle, but the know betters think it's from Holmen Vid Stocksund (Translates to The Isle At Log Sound (Sound as in Strait))

What first got you into metal?
1. My mother brought Kiss - Destroyer home from work when I was about 5.
2. My brother did some tape trading and brought the LP AC/DC - For Those About To Rock home to us when I was 8. This is where it all started for real.
3. When I was 9 I bought Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast for my own money.

Play any instruments?
Hell no...and will never do. If I could play guitar I would criticize musicians all the time. I prefer to believe that they're all good at what they're doing.
Played some piano in my younger days though.

What first got you into metal?

Apart from those random Metallica albums I liked when I was a kid, I perfectly remember that day when I went to the gym with a friend for a squash game, and he gave me a tape with "good music" on it. I didn't actually question him on what "good music" was to his ears since I really didn't care that much at that moment, but when I listened to it, I was blown away. It was a mix of Rhapsody, Blind Guardian and Stratovarius classics (sorry Kevin!). From that very moment, I became a metal worshipper and... here I am, on 70000 tons of metal, to fulfill a dream every metaller has!

Play any instruments?

Well I can scratch a guitar and play some really, really basic songs, mostly campfire stuff!

You won't have to say anything to those strangers, they'll notice by themselves: I've got short hair, wear colored shirts and don't look like an actual metalhead (stereotypically, at least). Hopefully people wil see past the non-evil look!!

What first got you into metal?
Judas Priest & Black Sabbath around 1980, I was only 10 or 11, but I just liked the way it sounded. Then I heard Venom, then Slayer, and got into underground music and my tastes kept getting heavier. Then I heard Death in '87 and death metal is still my favorite type of music.

Play any instruments?
When I was in high school I played some guitar...really badly... and tried to do some vocals that were low and growly. Then I heard Chuck Schuldiner doing what I wanted to do, but he did it so much better. The band I was in broke up because playing that type of music was, they said, too hard. I went to college and never really picked up the guitar again. But I still listened. A lot.

LET'S GO PENS!! If there's one thing I love as much as metal, it's hockey, and the Pittsburgh Penguins are my team. Pittsburgh is a good metal town, they play JP every Pens game and the opening to Reign in Blood at the start of overtime and the entire crowd claps along. It makes me smile to see people of all ages and backgrounds clapping along to Slayer. Sure, many probably have no idea what they're hearing, but it's still great to watch for those of us who do!

@drink, I live in Las Vegas, you don't know a shit town for metal until you've lived here. I saw Grave two months ago at a dive bar and maybe 50 people showed up. One of the greatest death metal bands of all time and maybe 50 people. Granted, why they would book at a 21+ bar remains a mystery to me, but it was a disgrace.

@moo, I'm there! As for that last part, I think the Bruins are playing the best hockey in the league right now. But they don't hand out Stanley Cups at x-mas, my friend!
