Scary 50
Funny thing is....when I did my Who are you? post here over 2 years ago, I think I put 40-something rather than my exact age. Now, I'm kinda like screw it - I don't care and I'm over being concerned about things like that....especially when I realized that my 50th year last year was one of the very best of my entire life. (Party on, Garth!) Mal2000 wrote:What first got you into metal?
I was 15 and very rebellious; looking for freedom and rock was forbidden in communistic Poland. It was almost impossible to get any albums and there were no live rock gigs whatsoever. Father of my friend was a diplomat and he was smuggling LPs to Poland. My friend recorded them on a cassette recorder and with group of friends we were listening to them at the cementary close to school. I started with Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Van Halen ……… I immigrated to Holland in 1984 and started to go to live shows. My ex-husband hated metal, so for many years I could not freely join my “metal family”.
I grew up in the Midwest of the USA (first northern Indiana and then Chicago suburbs for jr. high and high school). If you know the TV show That 70s Show - haha - that was pretty much my life in many ways. Mal2000 wrote:Top 5 bands?

Well I hope they all are on the ship too. If everything fails and the ship has no power (like the one a few months ago) you can rest assured the beer stays cold 8)

honestly after day one just drink the pool or hot tub water and you should get tons of booze .... the urine content might be a little higher than normal though. unless you are used to American beers in which case it will be spot on

I really do have a broad love of music which can change according to mood, weather, and the amount of sugar/caffeine in my system.

As a last year survivor I have to say, I was given a heartly welcome, felt like meeting old friend although we met the first time. A kind of family business. Enjoy it.

Thanks! I've wanted to go on the last couple but just couldn't make it. Hopefully I restrain my enthusiastic energy enough that I don't get keelhauled...

Very, VERY much looking forward to it! You shouldn't need the witches to restrain me, just give me good music, good company and good beer

I've never seen Freaks and Geeks. Now I'm intrigued....

EvilDan wrote:I'd be very interested if you enjoy Freaks and Geeks. Be warned. It's a Judd Apatow thing, and lots of the same actors as in his other stuff.

Sounds like you work in politics. You may be the first forum member to do so. Interesting.
