    Destruction
    Ensiferum
    Epica
    Exodus (Just a couple songs)
    Finntroll (2x)
Gamma Ray (2x but left early before the Helloween songs on the 2nd set )
    Iced Earth (2x)
    Korpiklaani (2x)
    Marduk
    Moonspell (2x)
    Nevermore
    Rage (2x)
    Sabaton (2x)

    The Absence
Trouble (Just a couple of songs)

    Tyr
    Uli Jon Roth

Missed: Blackguard, Dusk Machine, Fear Factory, Forbidden, Malevolent Creation, Obituary, Raven, Sodom, Swashbuckle, Unleashed, Voivod, Witchburner

I didn't get around to much, but I saw exactly who I wanted to.

    Amon Amarth
    Blackguard (2x)
    Blind Guardian (2x)
    Dark Tranquillity
Destruction (for about two or three songs; doesn't really count)
    Ensiferum (2x)
    Epica
    Finntroll
    Korpiklaani (2x)
    Moonspell
    Nevermore
    Sabaton (2x)
    Sanctuary
    Sonata Arctica (2x)
    Swashbuckle (2x)
    Tyr (2x)
    Unleashed
    Witchburner

    Quality over quantity

I saw *most* of who i wanted to see, which amounted to 26 bands and 36 sets, but missed a few that i really wanted to check out:

Agent Steel (2x - freaking amazing, even with the dude reading off lyric sheets LOL)
    Amon Amarth
Cripper (2x - didn't mean to see them twice, only did because i left Epica, blah)
    Death Angel
    Dusk Machine
    Ensiferum
Epica (just a couple songs, not my thing)
Exodus (Just a couple songs - seen them so many times!)
Fear Factory (1x, Burton needs in-ear monitors!)
Finntroll (Just a couple songs, couldn't miss too much karaoke action)
    Forbidden (2x)
Gamma Ray (Just a couple songs, they weren't sounding that good to me)
    Moonspell
    Nevermore (2x)
Obituary (watching Craig jam out and Kevin pogo-ing everywhere)
Rage (2x holy shit they blew me away)
    Raven
    Sanctuary (1.5 times)
Sodom (2x - holy hell they rule)
    Testament (1.5 times)
Twilight of the Gods (2x - of course)
    Tyr
    Uli Jon Roth
    Unleashed
VOIVOD (2x - am i the only forum fiend who LOVES Voivod?)
    Witchburner

Missed with regret: Arsis, The Absence, Dark Tranquillity, Destruction

Hadn't even thought to try and figure this out...

    Agent Steel (x2)
    Amon Amarth
    Cripper
    Death Angel (x2)
    Destruction
    DuskMachine
    Exodus (x2)
    Forbidden
    Gamma Ray
    Iced Earth
    Moonspell
    Nevermore (x2)
    Obituary
    Rage
    Raven
    Sabaton
    Sanctuary (x2)
    Saxon (x2)
    Sodom
    Testament (x2)
    Trouble (x2)
    Twilight Of The Gods
    Týr
    Uli Jon Roth
    Voivod

So, only 25 bands / 33 sets and a few of those aren't even complete sets haha.

A FAR cry from what I set out to do but yeah, that was a little overzealous for sure. I guess for future years I'll actually be hoping for 'disappointing' band announcements.
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

WOW. How on earth did he do that?

A lot of these bands on the boat I consider to be my favorites, and to have just seen bits and pieces of sets wasn't something I wanted to do. I definitely opted for fewer bands, but really got what I consider to be a full experience. I still have yet to go thru and get a final tally of what all I saw.

Nothing wrong with that. I can kind of picture him with a little calculator trying to remember how long exactly he stayed for each band and what percentage of total set time that was. :ugeek:

looks like it was 30 for me, but several were just for 1-3 songs just to get a sampling of them. I won't be breaking it down any further, I will leave that to all you analytical weirdos...

it was definitely different and special in so many ways - it's hard to compare it to -let's say- Wacken; the innovation, the intimacy, the people, the seize, the sun, the food, the cabins, the waiters bringing drinks, the basketball a.s.o....everything was just an additional treat

I'm surprised that anyone could calculate with such accuracy haha.

I know that I was watching shows whenever I was coherent enough to watch shows. My regret was that I missed hanging out with people more because I was so exhausted from completely going insane at all the shows I saw. I'm too lazy to type them out now, but I got to see every band save a few I think...once I'm not sick I''ll think about it more haha.

I'll just list those I didn't see at all:

    Sonata Arctica
    Voivod
    Trouble
    Uli Jon Roth
Cripper (who I actually wanted to catch at least once)
Obituary (I've seen them numerous times)
Malevolent Creation (Seen them even MORE numerous times)
    Blackguard
    The Absence
    Rage
    Raven
    Swashbuckle
    Arsis
    Circle II Circle
Destruction (This one I really regret)

Damn, so that means I only saw 27 bands. Some of these I regret missing, and others not so much.

ULI! ULI! ULI! Uli was amazing! I didn't see his first set, but was right up front for the entire pool deck set! Definitely in my top 5 fave gigs of the trip. I mentioned this elsewhere, but I'll say it again - was SO thrilled to meet the guy the last night (about 5am in the karaoke bar - lol) and tell him how great that performance was - hearing him play Hendrix's Little Wing so beautifully brought tears to my eyes! Told my cabinmate Mary who was standing next to me that I almost felt like I was at Woodstock - lol!

pic I took of Uli and "special guest" :D :headbanger: - EPIC MOMENT!

Thanks so much for posting this pic Laura! I really think your pic with Uli (the one with the huge smiles on you both) should be your avatar pic for at least a month :beerwink:

The pic I took with Chuck was taken about 10 minutes after yours above. Waited for a break between songs and told him how awesome it was to share in that epic moment with him and everyone else. Then told him my buddy who's a huge fan dragged his ass on getting on the cruise so we needed to use sign language to tell him what we thought of that

Oh, and yes, Little Wing was amazing. Dark Lady had me fighting off tears as well.
