I can only agree! Týr with a new album would be great! Especially since their show was on of the best this year! And I heard that from several people!!
Or maybe Heri Joensens solo project "Heljareyga"... Saw this mentioned here before and he is a fun dude to have around... met him in the Karaokebar :shred:
It was great fun!! Also with Terji singing "Just a gigolo" with Petri and Gunnar....

A great next year´s addition would be IN FLAMES!!! Would LOVE to see them on board!!

    1. it might happen since they tour with Fabio Leoni
    2. no, it's not under the name "Kamelot Of Fire" :D
    3. Khan "found religion", whatever that means - he hasn't given an interview or released a statement
    4. at a live show, you never know what you get with Khan - sometimes he sounds great but mostly he's just painfully awful; it was one of their last two Wacken shows where he stunk up the place and knew it...it was almost as painful to watch him die inside...

First, I am a Kamelot fan. But the last time I heard them live this summer they were terrible. Khan was missing so many notes. He seemed to be missing his high range altogether. I don't think there was ever an official announcement that he left. They mainly said he needed time to recover. I know, it's just denial mixed with hiding the truth. It happens all the time.

He WAS one of the best vocalists when he could sing. But unfortunately he is nothing without his voice.

Like Within Temptation? I strongly recommend you give fellow forum member and cruise vet Jeff's (Element0s) band a listen. They are Samandriel, he was kind enough to pass their EP to quite a few of us and I tell you it is ASTOUNDINGLY good.

and no, I am not their manager...

Okay, not sure if this means POTENTIAL good news for 2012, but......

ATHEIST could have played (let's leave it at that)

  Part of me is  that they could have/should have played, BUT the event was so awesome that I can't complain about who wasn't there and just get excited about who WILL be there for the next one.

Stranger things have happened: the Corbells jumped on the Marduk & Obituary bandwagon.

ah yes!!! they recently played KIT like 2 -3 years ago? with Tyrant! We should bring them both. I'd love to see some more NWOBHM on broad, or even that band Roxxcalibur since we had the Twilight of the Gods doing the bathory covers.

Bands I'd like to see added for 2012

    Opeth
    Mastodon
    Evergrey
    High on Fire
    Enslaved
    Clutch
    Nile
    Behemoth
    Immortal
    Black Dahlia Murder
    The Haunted
    King Diamond
    Edguy
    Down

Repeats: Dark Tranquillity, Nevermore, Amon Amarth, Iced Earth,

I agree with most of you on not wanting a HUGE metal band to headline, but I think a band like Judas Priest could pull it off without attracting any douchebags. Fuck that'd be awesome!

Yeah, Roxxcaliber are pretty cool. Missed their show at Headbangers last year.

I think it's important to book some not so serious bands too like these guys. I love bands that don't take themselves too seriously. They can be so much fun.

Yeah, I see Edguy, Helloween, Stratovarius and Rhapsody as the main power metal for next year. That's what I'm hoping for anyways.

    +1 for Wrath's suggestion.

    I suggest (strongly) GWAR!

Gwar on the pool deck with smoke like Amon Amarth would be brutally fun!
Disaster Area: a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones, are generally held to be not only the loudest rock band in the history of the Galaxy, but the loudest noise of any kind at all.

Yup! They're on my list of must sees. They are hard to catch over here. Last time they were in Europe, myself and Wrath were on tour and couldn't work them into the schedule.

Just had a thought: They will likely turn the pool red with all their fake blood which would be awesome!!! The pool cleaners will be pissed though.

There are just so many things potentially cool about a GWAR set I get giddy just thinking of it. I am going to email them and with details of the cruise, maybe they will contact Andy and demand passage on the boat!

unless they add some bands to the inventory (like Sabaton or Iced Earth??), I'm pretty sure we won't see a band two years in a row

to represent European Heavy Metal (some might call it Power Metal) there have to be at least two out of those - and I'm pretty sure we won't set sail without at least one of'em:
    Doro/Warlock
    Edguy
    Helloween
    Hammerfall

for other genres, it's hard to not consider those bands
Kreator has to be there (not that I care)
Wintersun would fit to make a good fix
    Opeth
Skyclad for the Folk Metal genre

personally, I would love to see one of the following bands picked...but now we are definitely talking about a wishlist:
    Wuthering Heights
    Falconer
    Steel Attack
    Lost Horizon
    wishlist '25:
    Axxis - Doro - Edguy - Frozen Crown - Gatekeeper - Satan - Seven Sisters - Shadowpath - Silex - Skyclad - Steel Attack - Viathyn - Voyager - Wuthering Heights - 4th Dimension
