Um during Saxon I went over to a little porthole and the boat rocked and I went head first into the wall/window and had a bump on my head.

Passed out during Exodus on the first damn night!! For the rest of the trip whenever the conversation moved in the direction of night #1 I seem to recall either conveniently changing the subject or sneaking the hell outta there.. :D not sure if it's possible for me to 'sneak' anywhere tho

    Well lets see...

Ran into my cabin mate at the casino after the day in Cozumel. She was fucked out of her mind (drunk as hell, one of the bands had slipped her acid etc etc) in which she then tells me that she lost her purse with her passport in it (it was actually in the room thank Odin). So for the next hour and a half I basically chased after her around the cruise ship to take care of her while she said some of the most embarrassing things to a few bands that I love i.e. the guys from Korpiklaani, Ensiferum etc. My babysitting duties were done when she jumped onto an elevator with the guys from The Absence and pushed me out of it because I was "bringing her down" trying to look after her.

I was pissed about missing most of Unleashed's set but I didn't care. Friendship duties and if I were ever to be in a state like that I would hope that I would have someone to look after me, so I didn't mind too much as annoying as it was.

What I DID mind that was INCREDIBLY EMBARRASSING was when her tirade around the ship brought us to the same table as Amon Amarth. They started talking in Swedish. With looks on their faces of "these are the craziest bitches we have ever met". She made a complete asshole of me in front of my favorite band. The next morning we saw them a ton, one of the times that she walked by them she overheard them saying "that's her and then her blonde friend" while laughing. FML.

I had other embarrassing moments but... dude.

A very drunk Becky & I ran into Terji(who also wasn't exactly sober) from Tyr Wednesday night. He asked us how to get to the Spectrum lounge & we told him...Only to realize once he left that we'd given him horrible & incredibly incorrect directions. We both went to get up & apologize, but the boat rocked...And we lost our balance. Oops. Byebye, Terji.

Thankfully, he found his way eventually, as did we.

At the second Finntroll show I was wasted and trying to start a pit but nobody wanted to. NOBODY. So I kept dancing and circle pitting by myself. I ran into some guy and he threw me on my ass and looked all pissed off. A few songs later, I tried again. The same guy tried to do the same thing, but luckily I grabbed ahold of his brand new Iced Earth shirt and gave the neck a good stretching. Fucker. At least I had more fun than he did.

My husband & I were about to enjoy a fine shot of patron at the pool bar during Epica Wednesday night...and that cool Caribbean wind managed to invert my floor length skirt over my head. Thanks, Mother Nature.

I tried to wear a skirt a time or two, was doing the Marilyn Monroe pose everytime I tried to stand up.

Mine wasn't too bad, I stole some guy's drink after mine got spilled. He was just sitting next to us, minding his own business watching one of the concerts and not touching his drink, so drunken me decided it was mine. I just kept drinking out of it when he wasn't watching and putting it back, but he defiantly noticed and left pretty quick. Left his drink behind though :beerwink:

We were sat by Epica at dinner. We had no idea who they were, so I asked where they were form. As I heard they were Dutch, I wondered how they heard about the cruise. They said, oh we were just booked. My husband and I stopped for a second and subtly looked at eachother. He had the courage to ask which band they were :PPPP
I tried to turn it around that we wouldn't recognize them as their front woman wasn't with them like I knew what she looked like anyway :p
After that moment we sounded all interested. Well, I guess we were genuinely interested to a degree, but the fact that we left their set after a song and a half. I like their sound, but can't stand the female opera voice for the whole time... ugh...

There was this boy who leeched onto me while the cruise photographer was taking my picture in front of a touristic background.
He told me to make sure to send the picture to him and so on. I had to hang out there trying to bullshit to avoid him to use any more lines on me while waiting for my husband to come out of the restroom.
He turns out to be a band member. Craig asks him when they play in LA, so he tells him we'll see him in this and that show. Again not only I never heard of the band before, I did not even realize that I could actually see them play the next day as they were actually playing at the ship :P
And I thought I studied the running order several hundred times.......

During Sanctuary's 2nd set on the pool deck, Warrell Dane asks us the crowd to choose between 2 songs to play. Before he could even give out the choice, I thought I was all hip and cool and yelled "Taste Revenge". Warrell tells me "c'mon dude, you know we are going to end with that one, you know that". I didn't really know that since I never saw them live prior to this cruise and even though I heard them play TR at the Spectrum Loinge, I wanted to hear it again.

I apologized to him later at the coffee shop for my nOOB-ish behavior and he just laughed it off (or had no idea what the fuck I was talking about). Was able to snag a photo and signed my hat. So it was all good in the end

Boy you have much more patience than I do. I'm all about helping out your "peeps" but I have such a low tolerance for stupidity and blatantly self destructive behavior that I would have put a boot in her ass. Thankfully I've never really had to deal with anything of this extreme nature before. One of my wife's friends kinda went batshit crazy on a cruise they were on and her and another friend had to reel this one in to prevent anything "bad" from happening to her (she was also married with 3 kids at home).

Anyways, you seemed to have alot of crazy (in a fun non annoying way) other stuff going on around you this cruise. (Note to self, hang around with Marlo next time)

Aha he always says that. I've seen him like 5 times now between Nevermore and Sanctuary and someone always yells Enemies Of Reality or Taste Revenge. It's part of their set haha. They were so good though it blew my mind.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't recognize very many band members on board. I was more interested in recognizing the music.

Next cruise not only will I be listening to their music, I will be studying their faces so I recognize them!!!

I was the same but to be honest, I think it's a good thing that they get reminded that not everyone knows them. Brings them down to our level. Stops the fame getting to their heads ;)

I probably will try harder next year though to know what the important people look like.

Next cruise not only will I be listening to their music, I will be studying their faces so I recognize them!!!

Totally...we got on the elevator with a dude and his wife that just finished a gig in the chorus line and they were talking about the show and shit but I didn't have the balls to ask what band he was with...had his guitar with him...a little awkward, but I dont think they cared.

OK ... my turn I guess as I started this ... I really hate to post this as I don't remember hooking up with anyone, but I don't recall leaving Testament's Thursday show and the next thing I do remember is my nephew walking into the room just before Amon Amarth. Finding me in just my boxers, sleeping. Didn't think much of it, just got up took a shower (not feeling to fresh) and got ready to catch Amon ........ but when I got home and cleaned out my bag I found a pair of little blue panties  (and I'm sure they're not mine).

So to whoever left 'em in there Thank You I guess .... hope it was fun for you , and I do apologize for not remembering our encounter ...... I have no name, no face, and no recollection of who you are. I am normally not like that ....... if it was a forum member so sorry, wish I knew what happened

Haha, I recall you flying past me and my bud mentioning that. Don't see much of a point in doing acid on a awesome cruise like that. It is already surreal/amazing enough. Granted it looked like I was on acid 24/7 cause all the scopolamine coursing through my blood.

Not the biggest deal but mistaking Mortuus for Morgan from Marduk and trying to shoot the shit about "The Devil's Whorehouse" and being reminded that "that is the guitarist". Oh well, arr rook same.

Last night of the cruise, I realized that I never went down to the photo gallery to check out the professional pic taken of me and my cabinmate Mary upon boarding the ship. I went down there to find one of the staff members pulling down all the pix and throwing them in a big box - and I'm like "WAAAIT! What are you doing?" And he said at that point in the cruise they just pull down and throw out all the pix that weren't purchased. And I was like, well, can you just wait a second until I find the one of me and I my cabinmate? Luckily, we boarded after 1:30pm, so those were still up (earlier ones were already thrown away). So, I'm scanning, scanning, scanning for our pic and found it.... and then...lo, and behold! nearby to ours was the one of 3 of the guys from Twilight of the Gods! (huge Bathory fan here/saw TotG twice/definite highlight for me)....so, I said to the staff guy - is it ok if I buy this one too? - it's not "mine" after all - and he says why not? We're going to throw it out anyway!! So, I bought both pics. The embarrassing part is that as I was going back to the cabin to put them away I ran into several people and had to show EACH and EVERY ONE of them my TotG pic including gnoff (the Swedish beer king who I had barely met) and Tomasz (who I had not met but recognized) - they must have thought I was a bit nuts being so excited about the picture! I guess what I love about it so much is the juxtaposition of "metal guys" and cheesy cruise photo graphics. And here it is :D

I got the guitarist of Agent Steel mixed up and kept calling Bernie, Juan. On all the videos I've seen they always list their names next to each other and on the records you cant tell the difference because of the hair in the face. Bernie finally came up to me at the end of the second show and told me "hey, you guys been calling me Juan, but im Bernie. THATS Juan the legend over there..." i immediately disputed the fact with him as if somehow he was going to be wrong. I turned really red and said i was really sorry, but Bernie is still a fucking legend none the less. I hope that never happens again!

Although I didn't have any outright embarassing moments .. I blush now as to how shameless I became Wednesday night into morning at Metal Karaoke. We hung out with Alan Averill of TOTG, Vreth and Sami from Finntroll, all of TYR at various times and whoever else drifted in and out ... I took some abosolutely ridiculous pictures and we got more and more hammered but what a fun, fun time!!!

Running into Tony from Sonata and being unable to tell him I enjoyed the show due to inebriation.
    "g....goooood......good...sh...shhhh" - and then he'd gone.

Also colliding with Simone from Epica as I wasn't looking where I was going.

I flew from Philadelphia International Airport to Miami the Sunday before the cruise. While waiting for the plane to start boarding, I noticed these old (middle-aged) guys dressed like rockers. They were even carrying guitars. I thought about asking them if they were attending the cruise, but I didn't have the courage to speak to strangers since I'm shy. On line waiting to board, I heard these "old rocker dudes" speaking German, so I was even more shy about speaking to them.

Once we got on the plane, it turns out I was seated next to one of these "old rocker dudes." The entire time on the plane, I was thinking "Who are these old guys? They're probably part of some lame band. Old farts..." At one point, I even made one of the "old dudes" get up from sleeping so I could use the bathroom, but I was completely polite about it (I promise). The last time I saw these old dudes was at the baggage claim, then they caught a cab and disappeared.

The next day, I saw the same guys on the cruise ship. I told my room mate they were the same old farts I rode the plane with. But I ended up missing a good handful of bands that first night due to my lip getting badly busted during Exodus by an aggressive mosher (my mouth was dripping in blood, and I wasn't near the pit).

I finally got a chance to see the bands I missed later that Wednesday. I decided to go up front to get a better view of the current band Gamma Ray. Once I was in the front, my jaw dropped. These same "old dudes" I rode the plane with were GAMMA RAY! I felt so bad for having not known who they were and for having thought of them as "old farts." I do enjoy some of Gamma Ray's music, but I do not follow them religiously, so I had no idea what they looked like. And I was only vaguely familiar with what Kai Hansen looked like (although very familiar with the name).

I later bumped into Henjo (the guitarist) and I told him that we rode the plane together and that I was seated next to the bassist, Dirk. He crouched over to look me in the face (since I am pretty short) and he said he remembered me. We spent some time discussing details of the flight and etc etc. Everything else that happened afterwards is kind of boring and doesn't really matter, but my cruise mates and I thought it was a very silly story.
