Fuel surcharge? From what I understand there should be lots of free fuel to pick up as we go. Paid in full, travel insurance included in my Blue Cross coverage if anyone is keeping score, but definitely recommended.

I wired the money for my ticket yesterday and the other three guys rooming with me did the same, so we're totally 100% paid for in terms of the actual cruise.

We finally managed to set up a new, secure and stable payment solution and are resuming CC payments next week.

We even have worked out a backup solution. :headbanger:

All this took much longer then we anticipated and dealing with these banks and payment processors has been a living nightmare these last weeks.

We will once more adjust the due dates for those of you that are on the payment plan. All bookings are safe and no one will be charged a late fee or anything like this, because it is the fault of our previous payment processor and their bank, not yours or ours.

I am terribly sorry for all the inconvenience and grief this has caused some of you.

    :givebeer: and lots please!

When bands are booked is one thing. When they are announced another. Contractual and marketing reasons.

As what the payment processor issue is concerned: It is beyond our control when the payment gateway provider has problems with the bank that runs the merchant account. And switching and setting up new payment solutions for such an operation is not so quick and simple then for a web store or when you have a shop or bar where people actually come and you swipe their card. Getting merchant accounts for high volume, setting up a gateway that works with virtual terminals in the call center etc. and have it all tested and secure is not just accomplished within a few days. In fact we have top professionals hired to assist us in that field, otherwise we would not be where we are. As mentioned in my previous post, we have a new payment provider and a backup solution. These last days we were running test to make sure it is stable and secure. So this will be up and running next week.

And about running such an event: Our production manager and our stage manager/crew chief are both veterans with decades of experience with large events and on the road. Staging, Lighting and Audio equipment is provided by some of the largest providers in the US.
Last but not least the artist's managers and agents know who we are and what we are capable of. I don't think they would book all these bands with us if they would not know for sure what we are capable of.

aww man, I was hoping the CC processing thing would drag out till January and we'd get on the boat with just the initial deposit, THAT would have been MOST METAL (Andy may disagree).

Don't think for a minute that this news will quell the virtual rioting though...

    :givebeer: AND JANUARY 2011!!!!

This has been discussed before, some banks charge you an extra fee for "foreign transactions". We are not a US corporation and our payment provider is not in the US so even you pay an amount in USD some US banks may charge you an extra fee. Please note that this is your bank, not us.
