I have to say I'm a tad annoyed at this point about the lack of communication from UMC, because it just seems so illogical from a good business pov, but my mild annoyance does not = worried in any way.

Relaaaaaax people :smoking: - it will all work out totally fab in the end. :3drunks: :headbanger:

Honestly, I applaud you all.... a LOT more patient than me. I'm not even remotely interested in cooing ....hows about, you take my 1k plus in cash, and in return...you announce bands!

69 (hahahahaahahaha - I'm such a child) days to go. 12 bands left to announce.

Giving a gap of at least 10 days between broading and the final band/s being announced - thats 59 days.

And for good measure, lets think positive and say there will be 42 bands again.

So 59 days until the final announcement, 14 bands to be announced.

That gives an average of a band every 4 days.

    [/wishful thinking]

OR, at the current rate of announcements, we'll know the full lineup by the time of the cruise....in 2013 HEHEHEE :P

Well I'm not sure why but it seems like Allison and Aaron have been clocking a lot of time on the forum, does this mean something is coming soon, they are getting a chuckle about our bitching as they snort blow off hookers in the Camans or they're trying to prove that UMC has a heart beat?

Agreed - so OVER seeing the title of this thread at the moment :(

I do like the notion of UMC holding the last 12 announcements to do a '12 days of christmas' thing. The idea has merit.

BUT, its also stupid idea. Because if I'm not mistaken the actual "12 days of christmas" starts 25th December and ends on the 5th of January. They could announce 12 of the biggest names in metal and they still wont entice many people due to the impossibility of getting flights, accommodation, passports, leave, etc organised.

Would be fine if the boat was sold out. But it ain't.

And furthermore, could you imagine what people are gonna be like If we have heard jack shit from Andy and UMC by 25th of December??

    Good question

We received ours Friday 7th of January for this year's cruise.

At some point close to cruise date you check in online through Royal Caribbean's site and from there print your broading pass.

You don't have to though, we didn't and it made very little difference. If nobody did it it would be an issue though.

Good point. You can do all that stuff at the port just before broading. Actually, when getting the room cards, we pretty much had to go through the entire process of checking in again.

 Yeah that's kind of an important piece. Everyone has a passport already right? And foreigners need to remember their travel visas (depending on your country).

I understand an American citizen on a "Closed Loop" Cruise can leave & enter the country with a Long form birth certificate and state I.D. as well, but would not be able to enter the Cayman Islands without a passport.

Looks like you have that one right. From the Travel Documents page on the 70K website:

U.S. citizens will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate and laminated government issued picture ID, denoting photo, name and date of birth. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16 will be able to present either an original or a certified copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by DOS, or Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Note: Baptismal papers and hospital certificates of birth are not acceptable. Voter registration cards or Social Security cards are not considered proof of citizenship.

Mine has been in a place of honor ever since I booked. Not going to risk not knowing exactly where it is at all times. And it's usually a nice reminder of what I'm looking forward to. Though lately the sight of it pisses me off. I'm sure that'll change once we get some announcements.
Never take anything I say seriously.
