Well, I reckon there is about 1 hour left within which there is a possibility of announcement today.

Under 74 days until we sail and STILL a third of the lineup is unknown to us.

They do things slowly in canada. Reminds me of an old episode of the Simpsons when Bart got put into a remedial class.

Bart: So, what are you in for?

Gordy: I moved here from Canada, and they think I'm slow, eh?

    :P

EDIT: I just realised, that the last announcement, Crapness of Boredom, was actually a leak due to their name appearing in a magazine. Well, that was basically a month ago now so maybe that is the only way we are going to get another announcement.

Anyone here wanna go magazine shopping?? :P

It's "The ones that survived the lake of Bodom". Apparently, there's a lake in FInland named Bodom, where some massacre happened. Some campers where slashed and the only survivor is suppose to be in assylum, not saying a word since the event. He was found in a tent with blood all over him or something like that. Hence Children of Bodom.

The Lake Bodom murders were an infamous multiple homicide that took place in Finland in 1960. Lake Bodom is a lake by the city of Espoo, about 22 kilometres west of the country's capital, Helsinki. In the early hours of June 5, 1960, four teenagers were camping on the shores of Lake Bodom.[1] Between 4AM and 6AM, an unknown person or people murdered three of them with a knife and blunt instrument wounding the fourth. The sole survivor, Nils Wilhelm Gustafsson, led a normal life until 2004, when he became a suspect and was subsequently charged. In October 2005, a district court found Gustafsson not guilty of all charges against him.

The murders have proven to be a popular subject in the Finnish media and commonly return to the headlines whenever new information or theories surface.

this is just the wikipedia article so take it with a grain of salt but thats the basic idea of the story behind the name.

Yup, that's pretty accurate. One would think that with a name like that the band would be more brutal though.
Oh, the lake is actually called Bodominjärvi in Finnish. Järvi means lake, so Lake Bodom would be the English translation of it, but since we don't give English names to our cities or lakes or anything, the band should be Children of Bodominjärvi. How metal is that?

Oh, the lake is actually called Bodominjärvi in Finnish. Järvi means lake, so Lake Bodom would be the English translation of it, but since we don't give English names to our cities or lakes or anything, the band should be Children of Bodominjärvi. How metal is that?

Children of Bodominjärvi   :headbanger:

I thought for sure a Halloween announcment was a lock so I'm not expecting anything anymore...would make sense to do a 11/11/11 metal day annoucment but does UMC's band announcments ever follow any form of logic?

The more I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if there's no announcement. National Metal Day is a US thing, right? And this is an international cruise being put on by Canadians, so... No guarantee.
Never take anything I say seriously.

Not only just a US thing but actually just a VH1-Classic thing. VH1, the champion of all things "metal". They're celebrating with guest appearances from metal "icons" such as Marilyn Manson, Slash, Sully Erna, Jesse James Dupree and Tracii Guns. Right... :?

But VH-1 also has that "Metal Evolution" series by Sam Dunn starting tonight as well. Should be interesting, so I have the DVR set! :headbanger:
