Never been much of a beer connoisseur.

Drank domestic swill for years (Molson Canadian & Kokanee), then switched to Sleeman's Honey Brown which, to me, tasted amazing (also, no sugar, no fat, cholesterol or triglycerides haha).
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

I guess you could say that we will be the ones with simple tastes on the boat. We are too easy to please when it comes to this. :heavydrink:

I found a restaurant near my office who sells imported beer.

I had a Erindger last week, and a Oettinger today, both Weiss. It's quite lighter than Erindger, but I liked it.

A long time ago I spent a month in Germany and since then I can't drink most american beers aside from some local stuff. I remember liking Furstenberg, and I'm curious if it's still around?

Otherwise I'll stick to my Irish whiskey, hopefully I can get some Jameson.

Have any of you more cultured beer drinkers tried the beer I mentioned above, Sleeman's Honey Brown? I'd be curious to hear how it rates with all the international beers folks are toasting here. My guess is that it would fall somewhere around the middle of the road overall but maybe those from Europe would love it or hate it, I'm be curious to know. Thnx.

You have Bohemia in Mexico? Good to know, it's on my top 10 beers here in Brazil. The other I don't know, but will have it once we debark in Cozumel.

I heard they were also selling Brahma in USA. Do you know it?
    It's a great Pilsen.

Brahma!!??? That tastes like water with beer!!! (I think it actually IS water with beer =S)
I used to drink that in Lima in parties only, because it was the cheapest one. It's disgusting!! Even for me that I don't know much of beers.
I don't actually like beer THAT much. The only ones I have ever found quite tasty are Dos Equis and Guinness. I also like black beer a lot, but I don't know how you call it in English.
I could be really happy with Dos Equis after (or during) a show. But overall, I probably will be seen around with rum or vodka or orange juice (the sun, man!!)

BTW, Rob, Kokanee is pretty bad, too >.< I'm glad you don't drink that anymore!

I'm a high class metalhead, so I drink wine. Assuming it's properly aerated and decanted of course

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decanter

The only time I was able to drink "almost" and entire beer was because it was: fresh brewed by the local tavern & a wheat beer. So it didn't have any harsh aftertaste.

I wonder how pricey would be wine in this ship?? Hey guys, those of you who have been in a cruise before, are the rate of wine and beer similar or it gets more expensive when it comes to wine?? :|

Same thing when you go out to dinner or a bar. It's always cheaper to just buy it at the store. But based on past experience the prices on a cruise are in line with "normal" restaurants (for the most part).

I was curious, so I did some digging.

    I found this here:

    http://travel.webshots.com/photo/127812 ... 4116HeEKMg

This is a price list from another Royal Caribbean vessel. I guess the prices on the various ships are about the same. So for wine it's $7 to $15 a glass, resp. $30 to $90 a bottle unless you go for champagne and order a bottle of fucking Dom Pérignon for $189.

You what type of beer I like?

    Cold.

    My Faves are:

Kronenbourg From France - Boris isn't bad either
    Cascade From Australia
Rothaus Germany I am shocked the Aussies knew this
Canada - ...... Hmmmm - I'll get back to you.

Most German beers are good except BECKS. Fuck I hate how corporate Wacken is. Fucking Becks!

If I don't want to reek like booze I drink Cider like Strongbow.

As long as the beer has a minimum of 4.7 %(preferably over 5) alcohol then I wont really care. Otherwise if there is only mid strength shit then there will be problems :givebeer: full strength that is!!!

How about non-alcoholic beer?

    Who actually buys that shit?

I know that in some countries you can not advertise for alcoholic beverages, so every brewery has a non-alcoholic version of their brand which they can advertise. But seriously, who actually buys that crap? If I cannot drink, because I need to drive or whatever, I rather have a soda.

    Before I drink a Clausthaler I have a Beck's. Yak!

Yak!

    funny story....

whilst in college, I lived with two friends. We were all broke ass. It was a nice sunny day and I really wanted some beer. So I went to the liquor store on a search for the cheapest beer that could get you the drunkest possible. I found this six pac that was... i think 8 bucks or so. I can't remember the name of it but it was a white lable with red writing. So I was all excited when I got back to my house and started blabbering to my friends about how I got this awesome 6 pac for 8 bucks or whatever it was. And just as I was about to crack one open my friends says "dude I think that shits non alcoholic" and I laughed... until I looked at the label and discovered it contained 0% of the good stuff.

anyways.... i ended up walking back the 20 minutes or so to the liquor store to see if i could return it. walked up to the customer service desk and said "i didnt realise this didnt have any alcohol in it" and the guy looked at me like i was a complete retard and then let me get some real beer.

    good times.

Unfortunately, Royal Carribbean's Alcohol Policy states that the minimum drinking age is twenty-one (21) on all International ships.
