sounds good to me - sleep, beach, ruins....whatever takes priority given my "state" on that day :-) bands won't be playing then, so no issue there.

No I havent resolved it. Actually got worse in that I picked up yet another class for next semester. I've been swamped grading. Finals are this week.

I'll check out that thread. Thanks.

i think we could just snorkel if we don't want to do the full on SCUBA thing right? i don't have time. anyone wanna snorkel with me? it's still pretty cool. i went snorkeling in Martinique in the south Caribbean and it was pretty rad. saw small sting rays, little spotted reef sharks, trumpet fish, etc.

now i am wondering if i can ride a Burro into the sea...and snorkel with him. that would kick ass.

anyone going burro-snorkeling with me? i can picture some sort of manowar-esque cheesy ballad being played as my burro leaps into the waves.

one would assume. but i am just naturally a cheeseball. worse part is in my mind i see me on a burro hobbling not-so-triumphantly towards the sea, and right at the edge he goes wild and throws my ass off into the sand.

people will need to learn not to dare me to do stuff on this cruise if you don't want to be embarrassed, because i'm just the kind of person who'll do it.

even though i'm a chick through and through i have some weird "macho" part of my personality that has me bear hug and pick up people like a big brutish guy would do, and also follow through on dares like a testosterone-laden caveman.

A job mate is tartign to work as a Nurse in December on a cruise line who makes New Orleans - Cozumel.

I told her already to try get a bar around and let them know that there is a bunch of metalheads coming on the 26th of January (that's the Cozumel day, right?), it would be really cool to have a Cocktails Heavy Metal Party at the Beach.

    Don't you think? :heavydrink:

Also... Do we know if there will be money exchange on the ship? So we can exchange USD for Peso?

Two things on the money - there will be a money exchange on I believe deck 4 of the ship, and also many businesses down there take dollars! Cabs do for sure. I do not plan on getting any pesos as I did not need them in Mexico last year. Dollars and credit cards did it.

Great! That's what I like to hear! Not sure how I feel about swiping my credit card all over the place while in Mexico, but if most places take USD I'll just settle for that.

I would advise against using the credit card in Mexico and only use cash!
I say this cuz of bad experience in Mexico....trust me! ;)

I told her already to try get a bar around and let them know that there is a bunch of metalheads coming on the 26th of January (that's the Cozumel day, right?), it would be really cool to have a Cocktails Heavy Metal Party at the Beach.

    Don't you think? :heavydrink:

That would be awesome let us know if it works out! I just hope they let me hitch my beach burro somewhere nearby.

I'll message her every time I remember about it ;P

Definitely! I didn't even use my credit cards that much while in America last year or Canada this year. Maybe once to get money from an ATM, but that's it!

I can see being cautious in mexico with credit cards. I pick one that I will use and simply place a call to them saying I will be in mexico jan 26th. They know I'm there and can look for unusual purchases especially if made after I am gone. I haven't had trouble this way and it was a 5 minute phone call to Capital One. They also have no transaction fees for using the card internationally.

Since I travel a lot I did go looking for the easiest ways to do things and I just do not trust myself with much cash either so to me that doesn't work well. I lose stuff.

It's safer not to use credit cards in Mexico. If you do have to use one make sure its not connected to your checking account... thats bad! We use cash only! :death:

Just read that Cancun just had a 100 year record low temp of 54 F this week. Cozumel might not be as tropically balmy as we are all hoping come January...
