What to do in Gergetown ?

    by wildchild » Sat Sep 03, 2011 9:39 am

Apart from going to HELL, what are your plans for the day in Georgetown ?
I have been looking at the excursion sites, but most things there seem to be about fish...I don´t like fish !!!

When in Cozumel last year I swam with dolphins and it was lovely, but would like to do something different this year.

What we saw was very scattered about. We may have been at Tulum but we walked for a good bit and saw some pyramid-esque ruins but not the grand stuff that comes up in google images for tulum. Although we may not have walked far enough. It was a hot day and we were hungover and cranky and could not have cared for rocks...

For Tulum you had to either take like an hour cab ride, then a ferry or something, since they aren't in Cozumel. It's not easy to get to. I think if you were there you'd know.

for me its either going to Hell or catching up on some badly needed sleep. it may also depend on how sunny it is since i get this funny screaming red colour with too much sun.

So far to me, it sounds like Hell, drinks, relax.

I'm actually fairly concerned about sunburn. 15 minutes outside in Texas and my head burns. I'll lube myself up with tons of sunblock, but I'll always be looking for the shade.
Never take anything I say seriously.

Am I Evil? I am Dan. Yes, I am!

I really haven't looked into it yet, but it'll depend how much I feel like spending... I'm interested in checking out Hell, I DEFINITELY wanna hit the beach and go swimming! I'd kinda like to find one of those Segway Tours (I'm sure they have 'em)

Strangely enough, I am not a strong swimmer, but I would be interested in scuba diving. Having an air source should limit my fears of the sea... I hope. Although, someone did say to me that after an operation on the lung that I can't scuba dive. I'm not sure if that's ever of for a certain period of time though. The doctor only said to me to not fly for 8 weeks after the surgery but didn't mention anything about diving. I understand there is pressure involved although I would have guessed it would be similar to flying. So I am not sure...

Otherwise... I guess I'll just get drunk somewhere on the island.

Tnk it's more to do with the pressure on your lungs the further below you swim.
Have to say though there is nothing quite like diving into a river or sea after a nights drinking to wake you up.

I haven't planned anything yet, but I'd like to swim with the dolphins because i've never done that and it sounds nice. I thought about the stingray swim, but i'm afraid to get anywhere near them after what happened to Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter) who was killed when a stingray lashed out at him piercing him in the chest with a barb from it's tail.

I'm not really interested in snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, catamarans or anything else related to the sea, did plenty of that as a child.

If I have time i'll also like to go to Hell. But for whatever reason if I don't end up doing any fancy touristy things at all, I'll just stay on the beach somewhere near port and drink cocktails with everyone else.

Hahaha fuck off, that's easy for you to say from behind the safety of a monitor :P . It's not about that, I just wanna live to experience the second leg of the cruise, that's all. Having a stingray insert it's barbed tail into my chest would change my plans considerably.

So, what have you planned for Georgetown, other than eating cheeseburgers on the beach?
