Well, the dates are a little inconvenient, but not nearly as bad as the Barge. Looks like I will be able to attend 70k 2013. :heavydrink: Hope to see you all again. :beerhorns:

Oh, just noticed this on the 70k front page:
70k wrote:Are you ready for Round 3 of the original? Imagine starting the year in style: In January 2013, 40 Heavy Metal bands and 2,000 fans from all over the World will go once again to the Caribbean to take over the luxury cruise ship "Majesty of the Seas" for a 5 day and 4 night trip of a lifetime.

So, we're going on Majesty once again?

Yeah, but they changed the text on the front page a couple of days ago. They added the copy-cat thing and as far as I remember the text didn't say earlier that it would be on the Majesty.

Might be, but anyhow the text is changed now with the new info of 70k being in January. That wasn't there before. Would be strange of UMC to update the info and leave the ship's name there if it was on some other boat. But then again, what do I know. :D

When we knew the dates for the most recent cruise, the Majesty was still available for booking on those dates. I don't recall seeing the Majesty mentioned earlier, so I think this is a good indicator of which ship we'll be sailing.

Since it's on the Majesty, sounds like it'll be out of Miami again. Plus, the site mentions we're sailing into the Caribbean. I wonder what our port stop will be this time.

Is Captain Metal doing a preparty for both Barge and 70K?

Thanks everyone. Well, I'm not using a wheelchair, but can't use the stairs or even a single steps if it's too high, so, I should be fine. If by any chance I can't go off the ship in the place we go, there's no problem, I'll stay on the ship :wank:

At least you know you can get off lmao. I will never forget when I went on the first cruise and got into an elevator was some hammered dude that was completely unaware you could leave the boat.

    hi andy

we spent a great time on the boat. everything was perfect - especially also the line up. only one thing could be improved (next to the merchandising*): make it one week! monday to friday while monday and friday doesn't count much is way too short. flying over from europe (switzerland) we could enjoy some more days on the boat, time goes by too quick. so please extend it from monday to sunday. it doesn't need more bands.

*merchandise: i know this is a notoriuos issue but how about a place where you can just have look at the shirts (not buying) before standing in line for hours? i guess many were standing in lines without buying for some reasons. if those people wouldn't be there, the line would be shorter. maybe once could even order his favorites shirts to his room.

check out http://www.metalinside.ch (http://www.metalinside.ch/de/events/met ... _of_metal/) for diary, pictures and more.

cheers and see you again on the boat in 2013.

    pam.

More days for the cruise sounds like lots of fun, but that would increase the ticket prices way too much. The cruise is already expensive enough as is. As for merchandise, I still think pre-ordering is the best way to do it. Was there an extra spot for the merch? Where I saw it in the lobby area on what I think was Deck 5, anyone would've been able to walk up to it and look at it before getting in line.

I asked Donn is bands could sell their stuff at the PRE PARTY. Grand Central doesn't take a cut of the merch, so it's good for the band, us cool kids get early "dibs" and no need for lines either.

well, one of nick's brothers is getting married in December, on a CRUISE, the week after ours. we might stay in Florida and do that (ugh to a normal cruise, but at least we can catch up on sleep after Barge). anyway if we do this, that's 2 weeks off work in december plus an extra $2000 in expenses so that could dash the hopes of 70K 2013.

That would be quite the contrast between those two weeks

i look at it as a "vacation" after the mayhem on Barge! we could sleep WAYYY late, lay around by the pool, and still not have to cook anything, and also check out a different Royal Carribean ship, LOL. it's going to haiti (WTF), jamaica, grand cayman, and cozumel, so barely any reason to leave the ship except for the wedding which would be on jamaica.

it's really wild that they picked a cruise the very week after Barge (departs Sunday). that's the only reason we'd even consider going, because we don't have to book extra flights to go!
