I will keep an eye on the fares on a regular basis, though. I'm also going to wait to book a hotel for Sunday night (plan on flying home on Friday this time) - planning to do the super-cheap route this time and hope to find 2 or 3 other people to share a room; might also consider that hostel that people stayed at.

I'll worry about flights/hotels later for Miami, will definitely be spending much less time in Miami this time around anyways because A) I've come to the conclusion that Miami is an expensive shit hole B) not enough vacation time to do more even if I wanted to.

Fly into Ft. Lauderdale if you can. My girlfriend and I did that for 70k Tons coming in from NYC. It saved us $400 off our airfare, hotel was like $80, and a private shuttle took us to the port for $65. Miami is an overpriced shitbox. A humid shitbox at that.

Yup. Ft. Lauderdale works great. FYI, take a shared van/shuttle next time. It's less than $25 a person.
