I heared Obscura first and I was in love. It was like musical reincarnation of Death to me. But then I saw them live. and again. and again. And I know for sure: This is not a BAND. These are just great musicians who made studio perfected albums and meet from time to time to play together on tour. There's no magick in their live performance, everything sounds forced pushed masturbated and off beat. Sorry to say Anka, but if you see them live, all your dedication will fall into dust.

Interesting point doc but i saw the live twice and i reaaaaaaly want to see them on this cruise. There is not much "magic" in their live performance i could maybe agree, i only perceive pure "magic" in a few bands out there nowadays ... but i surely love to see them perform those songs i love so much. Those songs are my magic :)

I happened to fall in love irremediably with Obscura after one of their live shows here. Until then i simply knew and appreciated the band. I didn't want to go see that show, i was broke and they only opened for Children of Bodom whom i had seen many times before. I told a friend "no more COB for me .... i would love to see Obscura, but i am broke" so I said "pass" but one day i just bought the ticket with my credit card ... an instinct i guess, cause i'm used to going to shows every week :) And guess what, that night i had goosebumps for the entire set and i watched in disbelief, i was probably drooling too cause my mouth was open and i was holding my breath i can tell you that. The songs suddenly had whole new sound in my head ... i guess magic happened.

And besides, i have a magic stick

for real. Figuratively speaking, i guess it's up to us to make our own magic.

good live show has to sound at least as on the album - beneath the massacre is mine unbeaten live experience ever, I haven't experienced such precised brutality ever since. :shred:

hm i am not very familiar with Paradox, think i heard only a couple songs! But if that makes you happy hope they get them all on broad :headbanger:

I am however quite worried about the limited number of bands left.... i just hope the rest are all kickass and no more fillers cause i've had a few so far :mrgreen:

They're gonna blindfold all of us when we get on the ship and we'll only get to hear music, we'll never know who plays where, we'll wonder from stage to stage bumping into each other like stupid sheep. We'll never know who's playing unless we listen, it will be a very sensorial experience ... you hear, you feel moshpits the hard way, you touch cold beers. For me personally it will also involve dipping my fingers in chocolate mousse. That's all. You'll not know the running order until you get off the ship and you have attended ALL the shows :smoking:

I would like the running order a few days ahead of time, that was nice the first time around. This way when I got on the ship I didn't sit there with my face in lists scrambling to figure out what I was gonna do. You can just hang, relax, talk to people.

And I usually have revisions anyway, so the more lead time the more better :death:
