Underwhelmed. Lacuna and Sabaton are the only highlights for me and I've seen them both before.

Would love to see 'em again of course, but I'm trying to be objective since I won't be able to go in 2013 :(

Nile and Immolation. That's enough to get me to book. :D
I don't hate Lacuna Coil either and their latest album was surprisingly good.

looks good so far, what i would like to see is some melodic thrash like Testament or Annihilator or better some rare stuff like Xentrix (don´t know if they are active) or german thrashers Paradox (they will release a new album on Dec. 14th so that would match perfectly!)

And then get Savatage and Morgana Lefay to reunite and play 70.000 Tons :D

I´d also love to see Running Wild on a Cruise Ship :) even if their last albums where shit...

i´m pretty sure u will get some awesome bands to play!
    so long cheerz´n´beerz! :bangers:

I'm completely with you on that, especially as far as Savatage and Morgana Lefay are concerned.

I'm quite happy with Helstar, Sabaton, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and In Flames. Nothing special yet, but I guess that that is still to come.

Quite pleased with Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Sabaton and Subway to Sally! And I will definitely catch Doro for one set. So not bad for a start, but hopefully there will be even better bands announced later

Doro is enough to get my booking, the rest is bonus material for me and there are already several that I will be looking forward to. Sabaton was my number one repeat band. Hope that In Flames are feeling nostalgic. :headbanger:

    SON OF A BITCH.

And so begins the stream of heart breaks that is the comparison of the two cruises. DAMN IT.

Although for me, Barge still wins HANDS DOWN over 70K. Nile announcement hurts but I'll get to see them at Metalcamp in a few weeks which immediately takes a chunk of that sting away. In Flames hurts as well but I need two hands to count how many times I've already seen them and they tour a lot so not a big deal on that one. For Immolation, I still have my fingers crossed they might be announced for Noctis Metal Festival here in Calgary (no travel, schwiiiinggg). The rest of the line up I couldn't give two damns about.

Still happy with my choice in comparison. BARGE FTW.

Was hoping for more with the initial announcement. Barge, 70K, both or neither. Still undecided.

That said, if someone is aware of a quad opening on either, let me know. (I guess I should post this in the roommate area.)

I'm right there with you, but last year didn't start off too solid either.

At least I got my Sabaton announcement, but I just saw them twice last month so it wasn't as exciting as it could have been.

Woohoo! Finally got some announcements! Can't say I'm all that impressed but there are a couple of decent offerings. Let's see how the rest of the lineup shapes out. I had a feeling Sabaton would be returning as early as UMC would allow them.

I'm pretty stoked about Sabaton since I wasn't on the first cruise and DAR, who is on my wishlist. Nile is pretty cool too but other than that nothing really exciting.

Its really exciting though that they finally made the announcement and we will be able to book soon :shred:

Although I'm not a huge fan, I like them very, very much. *sings So fern so nah.* I'd never heard of them before I saw their name on the 2009 Wacken line-up. My friend and I really enjoyed seeing both Subway to Sally and In Extremo at WOA since they tour the US rarely (if ever?). I love the German language, so nearly any band who sings in German scores some points with me from the get-go, as well! :beerwink:

Well, since I'm going on Barge, I won't be able to swing going on 70K 2013 just a few months later - but I think it's a solid line-up so far! Out of the 10, I've seen and am a fan of Doro, Sabaton, In Flames, Subway to Sally and Apo. Reiter (another band new to me before WOA 2010 I think it was). I have a few Lacuna Coil albums but have not seen them. Don't know the music of Helstar, Anacrusis, Immolation & Nile but many folks talk about them here (especially Nile & Immolation) so I imagine they have merit/are worth checking out. ;)

Those of you going on 70K -

I must say Kudos to Andy though for putting together a very UNIQUE lineup once again! Fests like Wacken have basically the same bands on a 2 year rotation and Andy always pulls out bands that I've never heard of and bands that you would hardly ever see on a fest lineup. :3drunks:

I'm pretty sure either Subway to Sally or Die Apokalyptischen Reiter are at every single Wacken.

    Edit: Doro too

Not just talking about Wacken though. Just saying, the lineup is completely different from most other lineups I've seen for fests this year. And Die Apokalyptischen Reiter I've never heard of.

I know there's been a lot of Germans on the cruise but do you really need to book those shitty Wacken trademark bands? (Apo Reiter and Subway to Sally)
Does anybody outside of Germany or Switzerland actually like those bands?

Only bands i'm interested in Seeing are Hellstar and Doro so far but i've seen Doro play so many times by this stage XD.

By the way i've seen morgana Lefay play on a cruise before

That's definitely a good thing. Can't compete with the summer fests if you're just providing the exact same lineup. I feel like I saw a bunch of these bands on the lineups for last year's fests, but I could be mistaken. I like to make things up.

Kinda like In Extremo last year (shit! I mean this year. Here we go again). Germans make up a large portion of the cruisers. Probably just trying to get them to follow the bands on the boat? Then again, pretty easy to see them in Germany.

I kinda hope Andy didn't completely blow his load on the 2 2012 cruises and won't be able to match the first 2 70k's for 2013. The lineups were amazing so we must all have faith!
