    by IntoTheVoid » Wed Aug 01, 2012 10:23 pm

Definitely a MUST SEE before or after the cruise. the food is beyond AMAZING!!! and maybe Nicko Mcbrain might stop in himself. Anyone plan on making a visit here? I plan on going the day before the BTH sets sail, lets grab a drink!

There was quite the gathering before 70k this year, I don't see why such occurrences wouldn't be repeated before both cruises again.

I'm not going on either cruise this time around but will include a trip to R&R Ribs on all future visits to Fla. May have to hit up Stach's place on my way though just to assure a balanced perspective

Inspired me to google the trip info for driving from Vancouver to Miami

3500 miles and about 2.5 - 3 days of straight driving time. More like a week in the car one way if one were to plan to stop n enjoy the sights. May just have to plan this for some January in the future :D

No doubt. I'd most likely choose the longer route and just drive further down the coast before cutting across. Extra miles but more appealing route (somewhat) with better road conditions.

The bus to Rock N Roll Ribs was so much fun! I'm probably not going to be doing it this time but maybe for a future cruise. Food was good but I think people overrated it because of the atmosphere. ;) Definitely worth a trip to go. I recommend you all look into renting a bus again. Just be sure that they can play ipods or cds. :?

Thanks guys but unless some mind-boggling, dream of dreams lineup is announced (and 'Soon'), the window of financial opportunity has basically already come and gone. I'm definitely a never say never kind of guy but just don't see it happening this time around. For sure not Barge as there's just too many bands I have no interest in and 70K has yet to announce a single band I'd be truly sad to miss. That and I just don't have a spare couple grand sitting around this year and can't see myself making the necessary sacrifices based on who's performing thus far. And yeah, I know it's about much more than just the bands. I'll be pouting like a 3 year old that I don't get to see my 70K family, return to our ship and be part of all the fun but there will be more cruises in future years. And I'll definitely be there in spirit for both Barge and 70K this time around wishing everyone great times, safe travel and gorgeous weather. I know I don't have to say this but, take and post lots of pictures k?

Of course you will be missed. And I agree about the line up, UMC needs some REALLY big announcements.
They came through at the end a year ago but still the first cruise line up was better. I don't want the line up to get
a little worse each year.Come guys METAL UP!

Ribs sound great for Saturday to go with beach party plans on Sunday- I'll have to consult my cabinmate and see if she'd be interested.

    Agreed.

Though I understand. I've come to the conclusion that I may not go on the cruise every year, like I'd planned to, too much $$$ and vacation time involved. But who knows. Can't picture the first cruise I'll be missing.....

My plans are to go until I have a less than great time.
Everyone knows deep inside if you are going just because you always have or because the time you had on the last one
makes you want to go again. Of course the cost is the main concern, it is not cheap, my heart goes out to any one who really wants
to go but just does not have the cash.
As it is I am in my element on the cruise, most of my metal friends are now later in life and are in "family" mode, metal has become
less important to them. So I go to shows by myself mostly, being on the Majesty is incredible, I can pick and choose what bands to see,
when I want to eat, what I want to drink, and hang with the coolest people, ALL with no worries!
I just hope the line up gets better, then it is Cruise on!!!!!!!!!!! :shred: :shred: :shred:

Yea thats how we feel as well. Its going to be depressing when I finally leave my current job because ive capped out the amount of vacation time I accumulate a month.

Well that'll do it. I don't mind my job but the commute is a killer. From casually looking at options I've seen that mine has pretty good perks.

Great place !!! I drove the rental car up there with Eric the night after Judas Priest in Miami. So it was a Friday night and they were really busy. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table. But when we were seated i about dropped my menu when i saw Nicko chatting and drinking corona with customers and also eating their appetizers and ribs ! He was going from table to table. he came to our table and talked to us for almost 10 minutes. We got our pics with him too. Eric must have been drunk as my pic with Nicko is fuzzier than his. hahahaha Great food.
