I thought Liv Kristine died after the release of Theatre of Tragedy's Aegis album.

    Who knew?!?

I'm happy with the announcement. I haven't had a chance to see them yet, so I'm definitely in for a set.

Saw them open for Blind Guardian in 2006 but don't really remember how they were. Guess I'll find out

I agree. I've seen them on a few different tours. Very boring band. This is the first zero band for me.

Sure, book the girlie bands I DON'T like. Never cared for Liv; she was ok on ToT's Aegis and Musique (or was that the new chick already?). but I've always found her a bit boring. And she's not a (Dutch) redhead.

But, like Craig said, at least it's not a repeat.

I could name about 100 bands from Norway I would rather see, but I'll take it. I'm a fan of the olde Theatre of Tragedy stuff but never got into Leaves' Eyes. It'll be interesting to catch a set on the ship because I'll likely never see them again, and it'll be my first show seeing Liv Kristine.
There seems to be a love/hate thing with them on here, but I am actually rather indifferent. I'll catch a show if the schedule fits, but I'm not missing Septicflesh for them. On the Rank 'Em thread, I'd give them a 5.

I'm indifferent on this announcement ... I don't mind them, but could of used a much better announcement to fuel my fire with.

I do like some of their music, but will see if I catch any of their on ship performance :beerhorns:

I thought about that too, but in the past werent all double band announcements done in the same one?

I really havent listened to LE since the first album, and they put on a pretty boring show at progpower. One of those bands where the songs I like I REALLY like, then the rest is just boring.

Not that I'm one of those people but I'll speak on their behalf seeing as they've all followed orders and summarily shadded up ;)

Remember, Andy/UMC stated that Barge would in no way represent a decrease in the number of extreme metal bands included in 70K lineups or a reduction in the balanced approach that had been sought in the bookings of the first two cruises. I think that 70K 2013 ended up with a power/folk heavy imbalance in part because of Barge and the fact that many of the available, touring, heavier bands had taken part and weren't likely to do both cruises. But I don't think the argument that Barge's failure to sell out = less extreme bands for future 70K sailings holds any water whatsoever.
So far at least, 2011, 2012 & 2015 were enough for me

Agree 100%.. I like the mixture, but it's fun to jab the "extreme metal fans" I'm glad that a lot of Barge folks have decided to come back to 70k!! Always fun people.

Got dragged to see Leaves eyes play before somewhere in France due to dragging my Israel friend to Switzerland to go drinking
Was expecting them to be shit.I thought they were quite good live depsite not being my kind of band. Not sure what they are like live these days though.
Like what's been said it's a nice change from booking the previous cruise bands.
Unfortunatly i don't have high hopes for the lineup as i suspect they will be mostly just bands that can regularly tour the U.S.
Still keeping my fingers crosses for some rare U.S. heavy metal bands though with the slight resurection of traditional metal bands in the U.S./

Haha Matt! Too funny  Or wait, was that a sly way of calling Canadians dickless? :?

As far as I know Jaimie, this is what ya get when ya have a cell phone, a microwave and a video camera and come to the conclusion that you only want one of them to ever have a hope in Hell of working properly again. Not sure if it's doctored but the post I snagged it from had it titled as 'Birth of Satan' or something like that. In the large version, it really does look very much like some kind of full blown face/head is coming to life, opening it's mouth and screaming as if possessed or tormented by pain. Thought it would fit in well here :P

I hope they don't have too many return bands. I want to see bands I've never seen or don't tour the U.S. very often.

Except for maybe TESTAMENT!! ..you can never see that band too many times. :shred:

Said the guy with the Overkill avatar :P

Looks like we'll have more repeats than last year. To be expected, considering it'll be the fifth UMC cruise. Since I only went to 70K 2013 I don't mind repeats from 2011 and 2012, but I understand your point.
    70K 2013 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2120)
    70K 2014 SURVIVOR (Cabin 2565)

    In perpetual post-cruise depression/pre-cruise anxiety.

Doing my best to be there for 2015.
